Yeah, I need a headlight and the skin, and the main insert.

Does the skin come painted? If so, that may be the way I go.

Sounds like I might just need to find a good shop and pay my deductible and let somebody else worry with it. I have a hidden winch mount for it anyway. Maybe I'll keep the old lower insert to cut up.

I would. I replaced my front bumper after I hit that Javalena with a take off.

Total pain in the ass.

I bought Ginny a new-to-her 200 series and am going to be looking to move hers in the next few weeks. I wanted to post it up here first before advertising it to the greater market. Some info below:

$24k OBO
2010 with ~255k miles, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Gray/Black interior.
We bought it from a local Toyota dealer in 03/16 with ~105k miles.
Pretty much bone stock. It had (still has) an OME lift with a new set of SPC UCA's (new ones installed below) on it when we got it. Seems to sit closer to stock height now, though.
All service performed at 49 Tire since we bought it (I have 25 - 30 receipts).
Recent significant service (and other 'one off' stuff) is as follows:
  • 09/20/22 - 252967 - OEM Drive Belt
  • 09/20/22 - 252967 - OEM Fan Clutch
  • 09/20/22 - 252967 - Aisin Fan Clutch Bracket
  • 09/20/22 - 252967 - Tensioner
  • 08/25/22 - 251792 - Battery and Battery Cable Ends
  • 06/14/22 - 244473 - 275/70-18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
  • 06/14/22 - 244473 - Rear Rotors and Pads
  • 06/14/22 - 244473 - SPC UCA's
  • 06/14/22 - 244473 - Alignment
  • 09/09/21 - 229589 - OEM Blower Motor
  • 06/xx/21 - xxxxxx - Hood Respray from rock chips (work performed at Paul's Body Shop)
  • 01/28/20 - 199412 - Radiator Cap
  • 01/15/19 - 170561 - Denso Radiator
  • 01/15/19 - 170561 - Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
  • 11/30/18 - xxxxxx - OEM Headlight Assemblies
Issues:
  • Passenger front and both rear door locks are finicky...49 Tire says the actuators need to be replaced
  • Window gaskets are shot...replacements have been ordered and will be replaced soon
  • Factory CD changer does not work...as such the rear DVD system is also inop
  • Windshield has several cracks...plan to replace this prior to selling as well
  • Parking brake needs adjusting/tightening...I'll get the crew at 49 Tire to look at this prior to the sale as well
Going to get it detailed after the few things above are addressed, and I'll post additional pics then. If you've got any questions, just holler.

Thanks,
JT

@HemiAlex

The prices have fallen quickly...I'm changing the asking price on mine above to $24k OBO.

That's weird... why would it be listed as salvage with no reported damage? Theft recovery?

There are a few options of what happened here.

First it is definitely strange to not have a record of a total loss if an insurance company payed out. It could be that insurance companies are slow to process paperwork due to the damage Florida received with this last hurricane.

Next possibly is something happened when it was offered for sale by the dealer on the on the gulf coast and instead of fixing it or claiming it on insurance it was sent to auction.

Lastly, just because a vehicle is sold at a Salvage Auction does not mean the vehicle is salvage. CoPart for instance sells undamaged clean title vehicles all the time but CoPart is known to deal with Salvage/Wrecked/Flooded inventory.

This LX for instance still retains a Clear Title and can be registered, insured without issues. This may change as paperwork is processed but as of right now it’s a Clean One Owner. If I were in the market I’d still make the drive to inspect before buying.

I wondered about that. You're right, shows a clean title, just listed as sold at salvage auction.

How many bananas is a 5.7 waterpump job? Noticed a little drip on the LX while doing most recent oil change. Debating in house vs taking to the shop. Saturday job?

Well a colossal (and costly) fawk up means the LX is gonna be out of commission for a few days while I wait on parts. So i figured I'd use this time to finally knock out the SLEE sliders.

PS is done. Trimmed the factory running boards and used some black edge trim to clean up the cuts.

And got the AHC skids on as well. PS should be good to go.

I'll work on the DS in the evenings this week if I can get warm enough to not freeze.

And learn from my mistake... double check all your nuts before you turn over the ignition...

My waterpump replacement turned into a radiator, fan, clutch, shroud and lots of other misc bits...

I was crushed. I was soo worried about all the hoses and clamps that I completely forgot to double check the fan clutch nuts... parts are ordered, now we wait.
