Hanging rock SP
Had the place mostly to ourselves.

Spent new years in Dubai. Did some Land cruiser things. Got to bash some dunes in a GCC spec 300 series. Left me feeling cheated living in the US. The poverty pack 300s are everything I wish the 250 was. These guys drive the hell out of these rigs.

Beautiful. Are there some good trails there? We might be moving to Nelson in the future.
Thanks! There are a TON of trails here, public, hidden, and private thru Farmers land (some of which are tolls or cost you a six pack to give to Farmer). The trails sometimes need a bit of research to find. One day I'll join a local 4x4 club that have good private land access, but for now I love getting out solo with my wife and just explore.
There is a specific NZ offroad App, which gets rave reviews but I've not yet tried it myself.
I am planning a trip to NZ between March 24th and April 10th. Would love any suggestions! And any advice on rentals that allow this. I would love to ship my 200 over but that isn’t in the cards!
There are rentals like Hilux, Rangers, Prados and LC200/300. The big companies usually restrict use to registered roads, and usually make tougher roads like Skippers Canyon and Macetown explicitly prohibited. But there are smaller companies that allow it, I think that Cross Country Rentals is one of them. I can ask at work if you draw a blank, as we occasionally hire utes for offroad work if no pool utes available. As above, that specific NZ offroad App is meant to be amazing for routes.
beauty

i spent 3 weeks in NZ going from wangerei yo wellington of the country… sadly drove a hyundai van

one of the best experiences in my life- enough that wife wants to move there

Which river? Emily lakes?
Good guess, in fact that's our next weekend adventure when the weather improves.
This photo is heading down into the Poulter river, which joins the Waimak just out of sight.

This is the site and App I referenced.

I've not used it but I think it's pretty much the bible of routes and access contacts etc..

What a sight. :cool:Talk to us about lift and tires on this beauty.
Westcott spacer kit, 275/70 cooper at3 XLT, bora or spidertrax spacers. I studied das’s setup, have the same wheel/tire setup and I love it.

^^ correct mostly minus the wheel spacers.

Westcott front spacer on a 275/70 vs 285/65 OEM. Not a massive change. Sits about 3/4" taller in the rear.

Nice. I could swear you had a lift. Must be the angle and the absence of sliders. I have a white sibling to yours, but just with the OEM spacers and 285/65s. Also taller in the back, being a two row only HE.

I'm one of the few full time residents at the end of the valley where we live. As a result I often get called to help clean driveways for out of towners because I have equipment and they do not. This is the second time this week I've used my 200 to extract my toolcat from a neighbors drive. Took this photo at the base of a tree I used to attach my snatch block. Worked like a charm. The problem with cleaning other people's driveways is you aren't familiar with the lay of the land under the snow and can sometimes get yourself in a predicament. Had to winch this one out to prevent the machine from sliding into their stairs. Cruisers , daughters and wife to the rescue yesterday.
