That's not correct. Toyota recommends the LT285/70R17 tires in combination with the TRD wheels on the STOCK LC200 - no rubbing whatsoever under ANY conditions. I've been running that combination for over six years (see my sig).

When I purchased my 2013 LC200 in 2012, the 17" TRD Rock Warrior wheels with the LT285/70R17 tires were a dealer option - it was even shown in the Land Cruiser brochure for the 2013's.

HTH

I’m running the same wheels and tires (and same color paint) and it WILL rub the mud flap IF you put on 1.25” spacers. I took them off after 1 day. No spacer means NO rubbing. A great look. Also did an OME 3” lift at the same time.

Thanks for the info and the pics. I will be picking up a set of RW wheels next week. Putting the 285/70R17 on. That jived with my math for correct diameter to match stock setup. And the pics confirm it looks good!

Well... your math is wrong - LT285/70R17 tires spec out at about 32.8" in diameter.

I'm so......... glad you are so amazed and excited.

Let's start with a seasonal pic:

That’s a really neat photo, @mcgaskins .

Here’s my favorite dog moment from same trip...
-The biggest, meatiest, big-softiest 1-year-old beast on Ophir Pass...in a stranger’s truck.

Just chillin in the second row, quietly reaching out to all: :)

Yeah I saw them as an option in the 2010 brochure too

Random photo-find in my files...

This was way more tippy (toward passenger) than it looks...

Maybe worse to spot than to drive, as left tires hang in the air as you try to avoid bouncing rightward several times down this drop... Actually gets more passenger-tippy just below this moment.

You know it’s cringe-worthy when NO ONE wants to spot...except Tony (Romer was willing, but in his truck).

This is at the last part of Steel Bender at Cruise Moab in May.

Thanks for the spot, @TonyP ! :hillbilly:

One more with both driver sides hanging/bouncing... Both passenger tires stuffing- The iffy part is because it’s not a ramp. It’s a super uneven series of single-sided bumps and holes that lurch left and right...mostly right.

-Just as you’re tipping passenger...passenger side drops down to the right & driver side bounces up and wants to roll up and over. You have to ride it out and you only get one shot because it’s way to steep to correct. You’re braking hard just to slow the slide, but if you lock your front passenger as you bounce down and in...you are gonna roll.

The funny part is... the spot above is the “BYPASS” to this other option below (not counting turning around and taking a different path back to town, which many folks understandably chose to do)....

This green gem (below) was one of three rigs that went down this other drop, and the only one we didn’t have to strap from the rear to prevent a roll forward or other damage- Kudos to this guy, who was driving a MUSEUM-quality, perfect 45.

As I recall @TonyP and/or @Romer saying, “I’ve never seen so many rigs come so close to rolling.”

I haven’t wheeled Steel Bender in ~8 years and that looks much worse than I remember.

Ya, the trails in this section probably changes quite a bit, especially where it’s not just slick rock. Piles of layered slick rock rubble mixed in next to movable dirt.

You can see how loose the surrounding dirt is in the green 45 image.

That top pic sort of captures it. If you were to look at the driver's rear, it's dangling in the air. So much weight on that front right corner. The bounce down to that position is terrifying to watch. I should have video'd it.

As a spotter, it was not fun. If I HAD to drive it, I'd just try my best on the right side (the side the 40 went down).

But, as I said before, I pussyed out and turned around :p I don't have brake pedal finesse and if you hit the brakes hard at the wrong point, that front right will dig and swing the rear and it's tipping/rolling you over to the passenger side.

I haven’t wheeled Steel Bender in ~8 years and that looks much worse than I remember.

Everyone there noted it was much worse than previous years.

Asking for the non obvious. Stock truck is without the fans. Guess again!

Ya, that’s why I was winking... (Obvious, silly comment...I’m sorry).

I’m curious too. Wondering if it was simply someone’s extra heat caution since there is no hood scoop... but I assumed they had a supercharger instead of stock...?

No problem. Interesting kit he has there.. Looks like the best performance boost option without tinkering..
