Seems to block a massive portion of the driver’s front view, doesn’t it??

Yes it does somewhat for me but my wife never complained about when she was driving or wheeling so it not that big of a deal.

I didn't get a picture of it, but that thing has a 80 gallon tank in the stock spare location.
the evap canister was relocated to the passenger side of the bottom of the box.

YUUUGE tank under there!

Maybe she just doesn’t worry about running into stuff? :hillbilly:

Pretty sure Dubai lusts after the 5.7 petrol too...

I have yet to drive a gas 200 series but diesel power is very adequate and quiet getting 15=19 MPG running at strong highway speeds.

Wonder what rear springs they use...
...especially curious since I’m already on 2725s...

True but in this case while Im making ever attempt to justify why we need this she is quick to call out anything that is not wife approved.

Well obviously everyone needs a $180,000USD air conditioner!

Honestly, I’d love a setup like that...but I’ll never be able to afford one...

Rear tank is only 55gals:rolleyes:

As for the rear springs its stock AHC F&R on the Maltec chase 200 series it is also AHC with Eibach front coilovers (an upgrade I would do on the current one having driven both) and believe the rear is stock because its a lighter box and a slightly smaller rear tank.

I said the same thing when I saw them but spend some time in one and the cost comes into focus, its seamless travel.

At the lease this past weekend, getting ready for dove season.

Well with that attitude you certaintly wont!

I have a real question, any insight into getting the spare tire up and down short of sheer muscle?

Thats it▲ but rim is magnesium.:) With that said I dont worry having logged 10,000s 4wd miles including 1000's of miles racing SCORE Baja and changed one tire in the last 20 years. Learn to pick lines and buy good tires and leave the tire changing to others.;)

It's expensive, no doubt about that!.. But, depending on your needs, if you bought a new LC, modified it the way we do, and then bought a camper of some kind, you'd be in for something in that range... a bit lower probably, but damn you'd have a nice overlander and not have to worry about being able to take it where you can't really take a trailer... or at least one with hard sides for camping with the bears.

I won't be getting one, but the money isn't stupid money if you really plan to use it for what it's designed for.

▲This▲ The most overlooked bonus with a Maltec 200 series is at 7000# you will not be able to loose it driving a stock 200 on the dirt or the highway. Something no other expedition vehicle can claim.

Does that mean I can put your# on speed dial for road service? LOL I concur on good tires not run down to chords but chit happens. The weight is not as much of a concern as getting down and back up without damage to the door/window/side of the vehicle. But when there is a will there is a way

Agree At the end of the day one would be faced with the same sort of challenges with most expedition built vehicles or even a simple Land Cruiser. Hang/remove a 35" spare (110lbs) on a tire swingout 4+ feet up in the air, not easy but it gets done and normally with two people.:meh:

I can get it back on the rear tire carrier, ain't pretty but at almost 73 I've learned it doesn't have to be pretty just get done. BTW i'm drooling about the conversion.

I have yet to suffer a single flat off road too...despite coming back with heavily damaged treads from crazy rough stuff.

BUT...Romer had TWO flats WITHIN THREE DAYS during LCDC (helped him with one of them) and his lines are pretty good. So I’m not convinced flats can be blamed on poor driving. I mean ya...you can look back at the specific cause of a flat and see a better line...but stuff happens, and lifting 100lbs of tire gets harder every decade. :)

Ask @indycole ...who must be a record-holder for CRAZY bad luck with flats(!!!!!!).

Both guys drive just fine...
