LOL! No typing and driving. In fact it does really tick me off when I see people texting and driving. I just use this set up when I'm stationary. And that does not mean when I'm waiting for a traffic light! Normally this is holding my iPad so I can use navigation apps other than what is on the built-in navigation screen. (The Mac is stored away while driving.) Google Maps, inRoute, Earthmate. (The Mac is stored away while driving.) I have my iPad set up to respond to "Hey, Siri". I have my iPhone setup to work with the Siri Hands Free function on the steering wheel. Music, navigation directions, podcasts are driven by my iPad with is designated as the BT music device but is also connected to the USB outlet. My iPhone is designated as the BT phone device. For charging on long trips I put a Mophie wireless charger case on it and slip it into that wireless charging "dock" built into the dash on the 2016. When I want to change the music, ask if I have new emails/messages or just ask for information from Siri I use "Hey, Siri" and my iPad responds over the sound system. When I want to make a call I use Siri Hands Free to do the call over my iPhone (which does not have "Hey Siri" enabled.)
Lots of info to explain that I don't text and drive - at least not with my fingers.
