The tires are 285-65/18s mounted on an old set of 2010 Tundra rims that I had cleaned and powder coated. The hub caps are one of kind... well, that is only because I painted them to match the rims and replaced the Toyota emblem with Lexus. Otherwise, they are the stock Tundra hub caps that came with the $100 rims. Yeah, I'm pretty cheap, but I think that they turned our fairly well. I just wished that my wife felt the same. For her, the OEM wheels are pretty much the only thing she wants to see on her vehicles.

PS Thanks for the props! I really appreciate it. I have been fretting over this for quite some time.

Looks outstanding! Is that like a gun metal gray power-coat? Love the color.

Thanks much! The color is called T028-GR02 Steel Gray Pearlescent 80% Gloss

I was looking for a dark grey, that did not have any blue tints since the grey on the LX already has a purplish tint to it. I was hoping to drive the overall truck color to a more neutral grey. A local powder coating shop keeps this as a standard offering, so it was one of the least cost options and they were able to turn the set of 5 around in less than a week. I didn't care about the timing so much since I did not have the tires.:)

How do you like the ride? This is almost the exact setup I'm looking at purchasing (285/16/18s on a silver LX570)

The ride is great. It is definitely stiffer than with the Goodyear Eagle GT IIIs that I took off of it, but it feels more like a real truck and less like an oversized Highlander.;) This tire size is great in that it does not throw your speedo off too much and fits inside the wheel well with lots of room.

With this truck, I am wanting to keep it pretty much stock with the exception of the wheels and tires, just because I don't plan on wheeling it hard but want it to tow and real nice, which it does. I am taking it in today to get the AHC adjusted and an alignment done. BTW, I am now thinking that on the LX, these two need to be done when you change out tires, similarly to just having the alignment done with a standard LC.

Last week we tried to see if we could adjust the front sensors to allow the truck to flatten out front to back. Because I was not overly familiar with the whole process, the AHC system got screwed up software wise. (It's a complicated beast!) So, to try and get it back to normal operation, and still get the thing leveled out, I am having a friend (master Lexus mechanic) adjust the AHC before doing the alignment... oh, you have to do an alignment anytime you mess with the AHC and since I just got the new tires, I wanted that anyways.

Wrecked it? That sucks!

Any photos of the carnage?

A little history of our Land Cruiser ownership:

My First a 1999, bought it with 136,000.00 sold it with 170,000 miles, I drove the piss out of it.

Momma moved onto a GX460, and I got the latest white 2008, finally getting into mods! Pray for me

Pray for you? Sorry...but there is no cure for Modulitis... ;)
Wait... You wrecked the white one? Or wrecked this grey one?

Wrecked the gray one! Look at how far we pushed that little guy! He ran the red light. Thank God no one was riding shot gun.

WOW! Scary!

Sounds like a bad wreck! How did the LC do?

Pretty happy with the roof rack other than not fitting in the garage! Might be done modding for awhile (wife hopes so too)!

6 of us in LC at impact, total loss, no broken bones. It happened so fast I didn't have time to hit the brakes. LC performed perfectly.

So, I wanted to check to see how the truck with the new tires and refurbished wheels looked like in HI... I have to admit.... It's a beast!

Yeah, @Markuson It's dirty... blame it on the crab apples being in full bloom.

Beautiful!

I was lucky and found a house with 8Ft garage doors. I was able to drive in with a RTT on top of a roof rack. makes it easier to store the RTT on the garage ceiling with a RACOR ($150 on Amazon) installing and removing the RTT myself. Also allowed me to buy that Kimberley Karavan and keep it in the garage

You know we are never done with mods. Even after a few years something new comes along
