Don't buy things you really can't afford. I'm by no means rich(only in name), I just spend less than I make and save the rest like a squirrel getting ready for the winter.
I haven't always been like this but a few good books over the last 15 years changed my attitude towards finance. Sorry, way off typical cruiser topic. We're all smarter than the average car consumer.

Finances are a funny thing, and there is a huge range of financial means represented by those on this forum, no doubt.

There are those here who can afford a new Cruiser...and then there are those here (like me) who can afford a new 4Runner or Prado...but who see the value of the Cruiser...and buy a used Cruiser for the cost of a new 4Runner... ;)

I DO think there is one thing we ALL have in common here, though:

-Fantastic taste and an appreciation for quality.

Cruisers are not generally considered status symbols like other expensive vehicles like Range Rover, Escalade, or Jaguar. But we have all figured out that what goes into the LC is rock solid, and get to enjoy it whether those in the general population are impressed...or not. If anything, it's this "low-profile" understanding that you are secretly unstoppable (or unlikely to be stopped by your vehicle) that is incredibly satisfying.

Hey, look, a picture! Neato!

Obsessions
I love my cruiser but I'm equally obsessed with all the family's cars and all cars in general.
For me it's fishing. I hate getting up all week at 6am for work but come the weekend and I'm on the boat by 5am for the sunrise. My wife just doesn't get it.

Really that interesting, that is one of the first things I noticed when browsing on this forum.. Hey don't get me wrong I like to have a decent vehicle and all, it is just not the identity of my life (eat, live, breath and sleep landcruiser, nooo) ... Also I wouldn't know about which sports teams/fans are the worst, I have never had any interest in watching sports; I find them quite boring and predictable. Same stuff over and over, just a different name and face.

I would not be opposed to throwing a snowball at Santa.. Most people don't even realize where and how Christmas originated, Santa actually stands for Saint Nick AKA the devil... Christmas started from Paganism sun worship. Over time and much compromise the Christian church accepted it, but the beginning Christians refused to celebrate Christmas because they knew of its demonic pagan roots and wanted no part in it.. Did you know Christmas was even illegal in the US for a looong time, I think the first state legalized it in 1830ish.. Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, in fact it is the opposite, and there is no way that Jesus would be pleased knowing that someone is taking a Pagan holiday and trying to put a bow and tie on it and say oh we are celebrating Jesus.. When God knows how evil its roots and foundation are... Just like you wouldn't try to take a turd and clean it up and offer it as a gift... Because it is still a turd no matter how much you try to dress it up... Soooo are you still opposed to throwing a snowball into Ol Saint Nick AKA the devil?
Had to go there...

Yes, I'm opposed to throwing snowballs (in jest) at an innocent person trying to spread some joy.

You must be a blast at social gatherings.

Maybe. But where would all the frankincense and myrrh go?

Edit: Another pic to keep it a pic thread. Not a 200 but Ronny Dahl's 70 series. I've been watching his youtube videos to pass the time here in Afghanistan, pretty good stuff.

I subscribe to his channel. His truck is awesome. He's not afraid to scratch it either. I agree.....good stuff! I think a few disciples might have to ride up on the roof rack.

hope it's still ok to post pics in this section:) Took the LC up to the Mountains on a snowshoe adventure! Sorry Ruff, had to get another angle of the LC;) HAH, and my buddy has a Santa Hat on:beer:
