Kalispell is a beautiful place.

I lost my virginity on top of a mountain overlooking Whitefish Lake.

You shot your first Glock on a mountain? ;)

I shot something

My favorite gun to pick up and just go shooting is my Glock. The ammo (10mm) is just so damn expensive. Gotta get off my butt and get back into reloading.

Ya... Most 10's have disappeared and have bene taken over by .40...

If I didn't have my trusty old (and extremely accurate) Beretta 92F from the 80's...I'd likely use a Glock.

One of the functions of the ARB drawers for me is the securing of firearms. I never worried about them in my 100's drawers.
Not only out of sight...and inaccessible once you have a locked tire-carrier bumper, but also legal transport without any fuss.

I will always remember my father's sage advice when I was talking about getting married: finish any expensive modifications to the cruiser now. Six years later, I get it, because I didn't do it!

And yup, the Glock isn't fancy. But after firing literally a few thousand rounds through it, I trust it and can hit with it better than any other concealable handgun I've ever owned. (Have a sweet S&W 686 w/ six inch barrel that is easier to hit with but is not very easy to hide.)

For a lock box, I use a GunVault with a steel cable that secures it behind the driver's seat. Gives you good access but prevents casual thieves from making off with your pistol. Of course, I live in Washington (with a CCW permit), so not worried about Johnny law seeing it when he pulls me over for enjoying the 5.7 a little too much.

You're fortunate to live where you do with regard to laws. I have CCW in 40 states...but not my home state of California... Nearly impossible in San Diego (Peruta vs. San Diego County Sheriff will likely go to the Supreme Court over CCW).

Grew up in the PRK (People's Republic of Kalifornia) but left 20 years ago. Amazed at how different the west coast states are from each other.

We're planning to move soon. Love the weather...but we've had enough.

@Markuson...been there done that. loved san diego (6yrs Navy, 6 SDSU) too crowded, too expensive and too many laws. Arizona is just a stones throw away, and step back in time. come on out, wheel, shoot, drink frosty beverages!!! (usually in that order)

Shrooms. Like, wow, man.

Ya... I grew up in the boonies of South America to US citizen parents from San Diego...and and lived/worked all over the world. There is a lot to like about San Diego...fora large city. 10 minutes to ocean... 45 minutes from mountains... An hour from the desert...

But when I travel...I go back to the boonies. So eventually... I'm boonie bound. ;)

Here's what I say about buying outright vs financing.
I hate debt too. BUT, if you can afford the Land Cruiser AND can pay for it outright don't. WHAT????
Take the Loan at 1.99% and keep the $85,000 in a Vanguard investment account making 6-8% over the long term. Just a strategy.

Or buy property. It's smart financial decisions like this that separate the wealthy from the rich.
