If you get a chance (and still have the TG bumper), would you measure this dimension for me?

I’m trying to figure out if the Trail Gear bumper for the 4Runner will work for my 1983 truck.

Thanks!

I think trucks mount outside the frame rail and 4runner mounts inside because of the rear body mount.
The drop on 4runner is a little more too

I know the 1984 - 1989 Trail Gear rear bumper for the Pickup will fit a 1983 Pickup with modification.

The 1984 - 1989 TG Pickup version includes braces on the sides of the bumper behind the rear tires.

The TG 1984 - 1989 Pickup bumper mounts to the inside of the frame rail on a 1983 truck, so these braces need to be cut so the bumper can slide into the '83 Pickup frame rail.

(Passenger side rear frame rail. Main bumper arm inside the frame. Support arm notched and outside the frame.)

The 1984-1989 4Runner bumper doesn't have these braces to begin with. So no cutting necessary if it is otherwise dimensionally identical to the 1984 - 1989 Pickup bumper.

Weird. i thought the pickup frames were the same dimensionality.
Are you sure that bumper was assembled properly?

No sir, not sure it was assembled properly. Just going by a thread on YotaTech. But the pics makes it look like an off-the-shelf TG bumper.

You thought the pickup frames were the same dimensionally? 1983 to 1984 Pickups are the same dimensionally? Or 1984 Pickups to 1984 4Runners are the same dimensionally?
