Paying $18-20k and then having to do all the build aspects to make it an off roader is STEEP.

I really doubt that anyone spending this kind of cash on a rig that is this cherry is going to turn it into a trail rig.

At this price, I'd be willing to be that it's probably going to be a collector who will keep the truck in pristine original and stock form and won't even drive it much...

It's a friggin amazing truck...by far the nicest 80 Series that I've seen in the last year. While I'm all for modding and offroading these trucks, I hope this one stays unmolested... It's too cherry to mess with it!!!

GLWS!

Hey JQ11- don't do it! That 40th is so sweet you'll be hard pressed to ever find something to replace it. I know the market is hot but man that is a sweet ride. The only time I've seen one nicer is the 37k mile LX450 on here 6 months ago that had sweet mild mods. ARB front, OME lift and a few other goodies with diff locks. It was awesome and sold for only 18,500.

Anyhow great find on this rig and enjoy all the bidding. Looks like my old LX might not quite get up to what I sold it for in December but you never know on eBay. It's fun to watch.

I hear ya Suxel that I will regret it but I have my dream 55, 62 and 80 and one HAS to go - I'd regret selling any of them so will regret selling the 80 but just can't have 3 cruisers at this point.

To earlier posts I agree that someone paying $20k plus for this probably won't mod it but you never know.

I hope someone on MUD gets it so I can follow but doubtful as we're a bunch of cheapskates/deal hunters :)

Dang,
I'm thinking I need to get my locked sage 40th back from my daughter! Yours is nicer though, and has about half the miles. GLWS.

Only a few hundred $ away from the reserve with a few hours left - with 137 people watching the auction there's probably a handful waiting to bid again but who knows with eBay...
I'm watching...and wishing I could bid! GLWS!

I'll be curious to see if the reserve ends up being met. If I was watching the auction and saw the BIN of $27K, I'd assume the reserve was much closer to that figure -- prob. $25K or thereabouts. Knowing that the bidding likely won't get that high, I'd almost be less likely to bid because I would think it futile. It's certainly a very nice 80 and hopefully it goes to a good home if it's sold.

Wow! I expected it to go a bit higher in the last few seconds, but $20.9k is pretty damn impressive!

Also, I think the winning bidder was a good result (good eBay history so hopefully JQ11 will get paid!). The other main bidder at the end had zero eBay history...might have been a bit sketchy.

Yes def glad the zero feedback guy was outbid although we at least traded emails today so he wasn't completely random.

Now we'll see if all goes smooth but at least based on his feedback it looks promising..
