Kept the ls1 pan on it. That is the best pan to use.

You are able to do all maintenance on the motor with ease. Even the pesky heater hose, oh there isn't one!

Its a decent motor just not for everyone's power needs
I drove couple of Silverado trucks with the 5.3 engines and that engine looks rather small in the engine bay. Its a very compact engine seemingly.
I bet it will be easy to work on since its 2 cylinders shorter length then the 1fz. Probably going to be all kinds of room in that engine bay.

So here is an update:
Gm harness installed.
Toyota harness removed and ready for integration.
All fluid plumbing is completed
Reassembly of front half
Taurus fan installed
Next:
Wiring
Shifters installed
Brake tcc switch

Engineer of greatness! I only have 15 years of wrenching and welding experience. I started out as a heavy equipment mechanic now I fix people, I am a ER nurse. You ready for a swap???

Drooool this thing is awesome. Seems to be going very smoothly. I'm hoping that by the time my 1FZ dies I will be component enough to try something like this....or will be done with school and have enough money saved up to pay someone else to do it haha. How much do you reckon a shop would charge to do this conversion if I supplied the motor and tranny? Keep the updates coming!
