The tach works based off the signal from the GM PCM. I am not using a converter box on this one.

I have been making changes to each harness in attempt to get more and more of the factory gauges and lights to function like stock. Such as low oil level, trans temp ect. So far I have everything else working.

I do not have a pinout for the 91-92 as haven't converted one yet. The 94 is posted on another thread as well as the 95-97 pinout. If you have a specific question in regards to the wiring fire away.

You'd probably do well to start selling motor mount and driveshaft kits

Maybe with a CV option for guys needing that..

Does the cruise control work?
Yes the cruise works.

Beautiful! I really need to save my pennies for this!

stupid question, but since you've done both, which do you prefer? 5.3 or 6.0?
as the saying goes there is no replacement for displacement. So I do prefer the 6,0l
what did you do for the stock oil and temp to work? use the toyota sensor and tap a hole?
I reuse all the stock Toyota sensors. I make an adapter for the oil sensor and use a brass adapter for the coolant.

I wanted to share a few photos of a 1995 80 series that we installed a 5.3L into. We were able to install engine without having to use a lift kit, which most will say you need a lift kit.

The transmission uses a shallow 4L60e pan with no modifications. The trick is all in driveshaft and engine vertical placement when installing the motor mounts. Drive shaft is 1.75 diameter tubing with Toyota flanges. View attachment 1161931View attachment 1161932View attachment 1161933
Clears the pan perfectly :)
Do I need to get the 1.75 inch driveshaft if I get the 3" OME lift kit?

Dirty Dingo engine mounts, custom built dual bypass radiator with dual 12" Spal fans that are controlled by the GM PCM. I do not use headers as they are prone to leaks, Hooker cast manifolds are what I use as they are the tightest fitting.

We used a pretty heavy gauge tube so I don't believe that will be happening :)
Did you use the center or rear dump Hooker exhaust manifolds? Is ceramic coating worth the extra $$$?

If I use the shallow 4L60e pan with a 3" lift and the highest motor mount placement, will I be able to use the stock driveshaft?
