I've been on a buying rampage for the last 6 months......mostly Partsouq, always Fedex. 20 years of shipping with FedEx and very few issues. The last 3 shipments from Partsouq were big ones with lots of small stuff....they have all been held up in customs. I got a call from Fedex and the guy said we had to go thru 3 pages of parts ....same thing....what is it made of, what is it for, etc., etc. It was hard to believe and I told him that....he seemed to imply it was Partsouq's fault for not doing the paperwork right. I've heard that this has changed with stuff coming from Canada too....WAY more involved about every part, where it came from, what it is made from, etc. Something is going on.

The Scheel-Manns we just ordered.....UPS.....they all got held up in customs. One for a day, 2 for 4 days. Go figure. All shipped at the same time, from the same place, to the same place. Weird.

Yup and when there is more duty owed, with DHL I get a text to my phone. That text is a link to pay customs directly for the added duty. Happens often with DHL but it is super easy to deal with, fast and efficient. Not once with DHL have I had to tell them what composition of the items are. With FedEx, I have had to fill out additional documents if an item is an electrical part, above and beyond composition.

Anyways, I am sharing my experiences so maybe it will be less painful for others. We all got to buy parts.

Cheers

So much duty owed. Every Partsouq shipment is followed by a FedEx bill. I was enjoying buying from Megazip but their lead times are long. Amayama is pretty good....I tend to use them when Partsouq doesn't have what I need. No issues with customs from either of those places. USPS shipping......zero duties owed or customs issues with those guys.

Yup, used Amayama for a decade, tens of thousands spent with them as well. Long lead times and their shipping costs went way way up a few years ago.

Back to the build thread, I got some more goodies!

We are now one week away from my flight to Idaho. All of the necessary parts have arrived (including the Fedex package that was held in customs). Most of the big items (suspension, bumper, wheels/tires, locker, front and rear axle rebuilds, brakes, etc.) are complete. Absent any unforeseen issues, it looks like we have the green light for Windrock!

I have several 1PZ upper hoses if one is needed but it looks like the timing is too short.

Thank you but not needed. The upper hose is nearly new, the lower was crusty.

New W/P is in, starting on assembly.

Had to customize the stock battery hold downs for the Odyssey 1500’s. They are a little smaller than original batteries. I played with different ideas for an hour and then decided what is most important here is these are mounted extra solid.
