The batteries that you see on these pictures are the ones I'll be using for my dual battery setup. They should fit at the current battery location. They're badass!

That's what the shop guys run on their personal race buggies... they're light, small, great quality, and very reliable.

I'll get more specs and prices later...
Main thing is that we might not have a need to build a custom rack for them.

More to come soon ;)

You are right Jonathan, he is a very good man... I actually dropped off some tamales for him and the boys at the shop today... they deserve it ;)

Engine is in! on some "mock" mount plates until they fab the final ones...

The headers clearance was perfect on the driver side, but the passenger side will need some trimming of the frame.

There's so much room in the engine bay! We'll be able to fit a bigger radiator than expected ;)

Needless to say, I am so excited to see the process and how all the goodies are being added one by one...

Next, finish the mounts, start working on the shifter, and the wiring... we are hoping that it won't be as much of a pain as it looks...

Good time to clean under hood, better time before engine went in, beautiful installation! I hate headers, is there a stock exhaust manifold that would fit?

Stock Corvette C5 exhaust manifolds work. Makes motor mounts a bit more tricky.
do they? Have any pics of them fitting?

The guys will pressure wash the engine bay. Like I said, the mounts are not finalized and were only tack weld for fitment.

This headers are much stronger than the stock ones and since they go straight down, is easier to custom build the exhaust...

I will be using several parts commonly used on trophy trucks. I really want to make the truck reliable, strong, and badass!

Carlos,

Will those headers work with getting it to pass CA SMOG visual? Keep the pics coming please.

Whoops, no they do not. They work on a 62 but the 80 frame to frame is not as wide. Sorry about that.

That's a good question to which I do not have an answer... I'm hoping that they will...

Maybe some else knows??? Any takers??

Carlos

Aftermarket headers have to be CARB approved to pass inspection.

I was hoping you were using GM manifolds or CARB-approved headers, lest you get too far down this path and possibly have to backtrack to pass SMOG visual. Easier to do it now obviously.
