I was able to buy some of each to checkout, this is what I found.

The s13wb is larger than the s12wb that is larger than the factory caliper that you can see in this picture.

The 1995 V-6 4 Runner s13wb cilipers fit behind my 15” wheels with no grinding.

Good to hear. If i were to wager a guess they wouldnt fit behind an oem 15" though. Would hit the wheel face.

Looks good! I might have to do this upgrade myself!

Do you mean to say you think they would NOT fit?

Just a quick update,

I just got off the phone with one of the engineers at Baer Brakes trying to get the correct master for these. He is telling me that a 1.125” min master is needed to supply the 45mm pistons of the s13wb calipers for the front and to run the smaller OE 60 calipers on the back. He believes even with the 43 mm s12wb on the rear by the time you restrict them enough with the proportioning valve to prevent them from locking first you will have a volume issue.

Any idea what the factory front disc brake master size is?

I have read so much conflicting information on master cylinder sizes I wouldn’t even take a guess,

I will say that I now own 5 master cylinders, three hydro boost all based off internet recommendations and it appears none of the masters I own will work for disc/disc so I’m buying a new Baer Remaster and wish I would have just started with a call to them and bought new aftermarket in the beginning.

J Mack,

What type of vacuum are you using? Wonder why the hydro boost systems won't work.

Turbo diesel has no vacuum to run a vacuum boost without some sort of external pump.

The hydro boost unit has an impossible to buy internal rod with a springs and spacers that pushes on the master cylinder and when you buy a new unit they say to reuse your old parts because every model is slightly different, I never had an old one so I made a rod from some specs I found on the internet. Long story short the combination of Astro Van hydro boost parts I bought never worked all that well so I started reading the internet again and bought some complete full size truck units hoping to get some matched parts, the tolerance on the rod is +0.000”/-0.005” so I always blamed the one I made for some of my issues.

After reading more on the best setup I finally called a real expert and decided to stop stepping over dollars to pick up nickels and buy an aftermarket master cylinder designed to work with my parts and stop trying to piece together a system from miscellaneous donor vehicles.

On the bright side after three days of wandering around the local junk yards I now have a bucket of hydro boost’s, a tool bag full of the magic hard to find rods, springs and spacers, bloody knuckles ( I really should check when the last time I had a tetanus shot) and $300.00 less dollars in my wallet.

Hydroboost runs off the power steering pump.

Bumping this back up so I can find it again, trying to order some EBC pads now.

Did you go hydro boost master?
Yes sir I'm running the hydro boost and loving it, I'm wanting to upgrade my pads this time around to the EBC pads and couldn't remember what calipers I had, it took me three hours of searching through my build thread to not find what I was looking for.
