Not the greatest photos, but the Front Hub Drive Sleeve is moved back and forth by the shift fork to engage the Front Output Shaft to the Rear Output Shaft. If the splines were that worn on the front shaft then it is reasonable to assume the drive sleeve was just as bad; if it wasn't replaced then it could easily be slipping under load.

Experimenting with some jack-mounting options. I've had this spare tire mount sitting in the shop up here forever.. I think I picked it up at a junkyard. I probably oughta do a proper rear bumper but it just looks so classy with the stock bumper imo. I just have the jerry can up there to go to town and grab some gas (not my actual plan haha)

I wonder what used to marry up to the plate on this mount. I bet I could fabricate a little jerry can box for it with my stickwelder and make some brackets to move the jack to the roof-rack.

Great to hear it’s back on the road! Glad that transfer case repair did the trick, was beginning to run out of ideas where noises could be coming from.
