But i still need to figure out where the extra breathe hose goes to

Not to sound like a smartass but it should be pretty obvious where a hose is missing. I want to say mine either goes into a T with some other lines down near the distributor or up by the air cleaner.

Is normal idle 1500? Or should it be more like 700?
It usually idles at 600. The only way i was keeping it running smooth was at 1500

One last problem. When cranking the engine i must have pushed alot of fuel through the exhaust and now my cat is glowing red hot. Is that something to worry about or will it burn through it?

If you can get out on the highway and get some miles in at a steady speed the cat should clear out.

Thats what i was hoping, its idling rough but the ECU was reset. So i think it will need to just work through some issues.

If you were cranking it a lot and it wasn’t starting you should probably change the oil. The unburnt fuel washes down the cylinders and mixes into the oil.

I didn't know that, is it vital to change it ASAP? 8 quarts of oil is kinda expensive and i havent budgeted for it.

FYI Walmart is a great place to buy oil. But I just bought 2 one gallon jugs or rotella 15w40 for $16 each at my local O’Reilly. Got a wix 51515 oil filter for about $7 while there too

Yes you should change the oil. If I had an FJ62 I’d take pics of where those hoses connect for you. Just to be brutally honest, if you can’t afford an oil change, how do you afford to drive it? Maintenance/ upkeep on a 20 year old vehicle isn’t cheap.

The catalytic converter glowing red hot sounds pretty bad to me. I wouldn’t just go all willy nilly and get on the freeway. How was it running previously? Any other issues before the puddle? Honestly a clogged cat could probably prevent a car from starting.

Just my 2 cents.

You can get a Fram filter on Amazon for about 8 bucks. Amazon sells oil too, though it seems ive been burning it a bit more than the usual stuff.

Been reading through this thread....havent I seen a cover that slides over the distributor with snaps on the top to provide some protection against water?? did a search and didnt see it, but seems I have seen one before.

I think that would help, also i plan to get hose clamps for the breather tubes
