Hi Everybody - I am new to this forum and this is my first post :)

Is their special tool to remove the top nut on the antenna?

Mine has (4) four dimples on it.

I have 1998 4runner with a broken pwr antenna and I would like to remove it.

Thank you in advance.

Thread bump.

Tonight I had to help a neighbor with her antenna swap and remembered this thread. I didn't want to wait or have to go and buy the tool pictured here so I looked closely at the picture above and realized it's what the bike industry refers to as a "Castle Nut". I looked in my box of old tools and voila, two castle nut tools for the old Cannondale HeadShock fit dead on. 1 was the 2 pin style and the other the 4 pin style. (They're way cheaper than auto tools IIRC.) Done and done. :D

Umm, I need to check my bike tools. Don't have a HeadShock tool, but that sure looks like something else I have ... freewheel socket maybe.

I have several freewheel tools, they're all waaaay too big for the antenna nut.

I just take the mast off, then a couple of finishing nails clamped in a crescent(tm) wrench gets the nut off.
