Hi guys new to the forum hoping someone has some insight on my problems.
First problem I'm dealing with is a misfire at lower rpms it's happening about every 4 sec and you will hear and feel a little pop, it will stop after about 2500rpms, truck drive fine and I get about 150 miles per tank mainly city driving
Next problem is low idle when I start the engine at normal operating temp.
So if I'm driving the truck for 30 mins or so run into a store to get something start the truck it will idle at 400 rpms. Leaving the Ac on usually helps the problem bc the idle up kicks in and will keep the idle around 800rpm, but after driving for a few mins everything returns to normal.
Third problem is the timing, I jumped the te1 and e1 and just could no get a accurate reading, when I set the timing to 12 the distributor was bottoming out to one side and the truck drove terribly and lost 50 mpg to the fill up so I just put it back in the center where it was set.
Hopefully we can resolve some of these issues bc it's driving me nuts. Lol thanks in advance
Here is some info on the truck
1988 pickup 4x4 3vze 5 speed
297,xxx
Head gasket done at Toyota 292,xxx (truck was purchased at 293xxx so not sure how it drove before the hg was done) came with all Toyota receipts
New cap, rotor, plugs, wires, injectors, fuel filter, clutch and fly wheel
I changed almost all vacuum lines
New intake hose front and back plus filter
All new fluids
Intake manifold and throttle body where removed and cleaned also sea foamed.
New denso O2 sensor
Distributor was also swapped from a buddy's truck with no results.
Thanks for looking
Aloha
