Ok I was kidding about the wire on the finished throttle setup. I took an fj60 accelerator rod and extended it with some steel rod. Painted it up and it works perfect.

Looks great man! Do you have a link to the alternator that you bought? I've been thinking about it lately and I would like to stay all toyota w/ the engine related stuff. Thanks in advance!

It's the 80 amp alternator from ebay. Seller is auto8

ok so I cant seem to find a pig tail connector for the shutter vsv on my donor 60 harness. Here is a picture of the connector. I decided to pull the vsv (1 bolt) off the intake and check some spare harness at work and if no success there run over to the local wrecker on my lunch break and try to find a pigtail on one of the junkers. Upon further inspection of said vsv it is clearly marked 24v part number 90910-12013 odd considering everything else on the engine is 12 volt. I also did an ebay search for vacuum switching valve (which I thought was pretty generic wording) and that exact same valve comes up with the exact same connector. So the good news is it was used pretty much on every Toyota from the late 80s up to what looks like now as an egr control switching valve. Even aftermarket replacements are made by dorman. This same valve was even used by Chrysler and Mitsubishi.

Finished up the power steering this evening. Had to make a bracket to mount the external reservoir. I pulled the reservoir off an 84 toyota pickup. The bracket picks up the old captive nuts where the old coil bracket was previously mounted.

i played around with my vsv for the shutter yesterday and none of the two used ones I picked up seem to do anything with 12v applied. Do they possibly need vacuum before the 12v will open or close them? Also both ports on the vsv you can pull vacuum through with it a rest, is this normal? I assumed that the valve remained closed until voltage was applied and it opened and allowed vacuum to pull the diaphragm for the shutter. To do so one would need something like a timed relay to power the vsv when the ignition is turned to off. Or does the vsv receive voltage when running (12v ignition on) and remain closed until the circuit is opened (ignition off) and vacuum is pulled through to close the shutter.

I installed an auxillary fuse block to power some accessories. At the moment its powering the radio memory, glow and shut down vsv. I've had dual batteries in my truck for a while but here is another photo of the stainless trays setup for the left side of the truck, it has a convenient relocating bracket for the over flow jug. I also purchased a stainless tray kit for the right side because the factory one was starting to look pretty ratty. new Toyota top hose installed

I went back and insulated my power steering to reservoir hoses just for some abrasion and rodent resistance. :)
Since it gets so hot here in the south a/c is a must. I had four hoses made, two to accommodate the new location of the 12ht compressor and two just because I wanted to replace the factory originals. New denso condenser, dryer, and compressor (compressor should be here Friday)

Exhaust parts arrived Monday and yesterday I ran by the muffler shop and picked up a 7' straight stick, had to chop it down to fit in the car. I'm really impressed with the thickness of the flanges. I made the piece that bolts to the turbo off the elbow with the flex pipe. I may end up adding a hanger at the back but it was getting late.

That radiator is making me drool... Nice find. If your planning on letting go of your old condenser let me know, mine is buggered up.

thanks man! my old condensor had a very slow leak it lost about half its charge in a little over two years so that was the main reason for replacing it.

Holy crap, nice work. My question is, where do you find the time to put in your cruiser?
