Very, very pretty.

Going to do some "break-in" driving tomorrow and then re-adjust the valves. After the valves are adjusted the bolts will be painted along with a couple of areas that were scratched during the engine install.

We borrowed (stole) enough parts from another engine to repair the A/C idle up doo-hickey so it is now working properly.

That Wix fuel filter looks out of place.

23303-54072.......You need one.

"That Wix filter looks out of place" ................ I'm pretty sure that's where it goes.
:D

It may indeed be where it goes but a Toyota one "belonges" there.......

It will go much better with the correct BLUE engine color.:hillbilly:

I could walk into my local Toyota parts department and give them the number you provided and they would just sit there with a glazed over look in their eyes. One has to learn how to improvise. :)

1978HJ45, my 12HT looks like a scrap heap compared to your lovely pumper. Still works, though, and rather well at that, but that doesn't stop me noticing some jealousy. Nice attention to detail, sir.

Thanks for the kind words .........
and please don't call me sir ...... it makes me feel old. :)

you are old ...
sure looks purdy, if it runs half as good as it looks you will be driving it still ... when your great grand kids have kids.

Dan I took your advice and spent some time cleaning the engine bay prior to installing the engine. Hopefully you will find the end result to be adequate. :)

Well done sir. It makes popping that hood even more enjoyable....

Today's Trivia ...................

The previous owner in Australia was VERY innovative when it came to solving issues related to the engine and it's accessories. This is just one example of his handy work.
Can anyone guess where this was installed and it's purpose. Those that come up with the correct answer will be eligible for a significant prize. :)

Looks Great!

water spigot block off bolt, now obsolete at Toyota ...
<grin>

Ding ...... Ding ....... Ding. ....... Correct answer.
I assume the engine and metal water pipe came out of a Troopy because of the outlet for rear heat. We plugged it up with something that looked a tad more professional.

cough, cough ...

Hold on big boy ..... I said you would be ELIGIBLE for a prize..... I didn't say that you would be getting one. You are easily confused.
Your gift was actually mailed earlier this morning as painful as it was. :D

About a 15 mile test drive today at varying speeds and rpm's and it didn't explode.
:)
Brush bar and lights go back on tomorrow and the HJ is headed home.
