Hello,

x2.

Make sure all the rust spots are taken care of, especially in the gutter.

Hi guys! long time no see!
The project has finally started. Things are starting to move. The truck is at the body shop, being stripped down. Rust in places already suspected, but luckily I have spares to replace those bits and pieces. The idea is to do a frame off restoration, so currently everything is being done in order to separate the body from the chasis, hopefully this week!
I have been collecting spares over the past year, so everything should move smoothly over the next couple months.
Color will be OEM. I am thinking of changing interior color, since OEM was brown combination, and I think that gray/black works better with white truck.
Some KG of dirt and debris were found behind the dashboard and the Rear Quarter panels!
Some pics to follow!
Hope you enjoy!
Cheers

Red Stripes will go off.
Will install a Safari Snorkel (retro style SS73HF), ARB front and rear bumper, and OME 2" lift.
Will fit brand New Toyota 42601-60262-03 Rims, will paint them black. Idea is to install 33" BFG's, skinnies, 255/85 16 (if I can get a set, Argentina is really crazy right now)
And will keep the 4 (actually I have 3) troop seats in the back. Probably re upholstered
Have a seat of barn doors with the tire carrier that will replace the non tire carrier door fitted to the truck.

Thanks for the picture, I see.
These weather stripe are similar to the one on the windshield. Sandwich the glass and body?
Mine are different, metal.
I’m also restoring my 86BJ75 troopy but I’m slow! I’ll be following your thread!

Yes, those are the classic sliding windows with a metal frame. From what I've seen, it's doable. Actually, in a Troopy I have in my farming company, another body shop in a small town, managed to take them off for a respray, and then installed them with fresh new gaskets. I believe it is metal frame with some kind of adhesive directly on the body. Don't have any pictures about the procedure, sorry.
Will try and keep the build thread interesting! Thanks

Some progress made. Almost all the body, except for the roof, is bare metal. Building some patches in rusted areas.
Also body and chassis got divorced!!! jajaja. So now mechanical work should start post chasis painting. Chassis has a few acres of land!
Here some pics

Hi guys! Happy 2023 to you all!
Some progress on the troopy!
Primer is being sprayed to the body, to prevent rust while they work on some rust in the underbody.
No progress on chasis and mechanics yet.
