Hello all,
Im attempting to change the g/l in my 1984 dlx 5 speed. for the life of me I cant find the fill plug. the chiltons manual says its on the passenger side and the owners manual is pretty vague. I dont see anything that looks like a fill plug. On the drivers side there is a plug that looks to be about in the right place but it says do not remove so I havent. The DNR plug is on the actual transmission part. There is another bolt head on the adapter box between the trans and the tcase but I dont know if thats the one either. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and take care.

oh hell you mean the marlin box.......there isnt one for it. Take out the switch on the passenger side top and dump in quart and a half

I'm pretty sure that a dual case setup only needs to be filled from the fill hole on the back of the rear transfer case.

Last part of the 9 page instruction manual:

"add 3 quarts of oil [80-90wt.GL5 gear oil] (2) for the transfer case (1) for the new crawl box, as per Marlin's instructions."

On topic, the fill plug for your manual transmission is on the Drivers side about in the middle, as mentioned above.

I dont think he is talking about a dual tcase adapter...

Geez, I'm confused. Transmission or transfer case? Transmission fills on the drivers side.
