For Sale 1984 FJ60 stock, in MT $2000/strong offer

Truck is still for sale.

lolo62- If I were going to drive it to Colorado, I would replace a few more tune up parts with Toyota brand parts or high quality parts, such as:

-Distro Cap
-Rotor
-Plug wires
-Voltage regulator
-PCV valve and grommit
-Steering stabilizer shock

probably around $150 for all...if it were me I would also probably put a different carburetor on it first. I have a local source for used FJ60 parts and could help out with getting parts, for a buyer.

I have had it out on the highway up to about 60 MPH, it cruises good at about 62 with the 4 speed...I personally would not drive it much faster because of where the RPMs are at (about 2500-2700, redline is 3500), but that is just me.

There are a few small and minor electrical issues I have not gotten around to fixing yet, such as:

-license plate lights are not currently working. PO hacked in to them for trailer wiring. Should be an easy rewire fix.
-interior lights and tachometer work about half of the time. Could be a short in the tach sender on the trans, or could be a short in the steering column or ignition switch. Speedometer works all of the time though.
-interior dome lights do not work.

"this is still for sale" spring bump. 12,000 views and counting...
if you have something good to trade, the price will lower...

bump before this goes to the crusher

Wow you still have this thing for sale. Wish I had the money to take it off your hands as looks to be a great truck, just no dough. Would hate to see this go to the crusher.

3 puppies- I will keep that one in mind!

Likely this is going to be donated to a non-profit, and taken as a tax write-off soon if no MUD members want to make a deal (and it still may end up at the crusher after this).

It is parked on family land and I have been threatened no less than 6 times over the last 2 years that it will go to the crusher if it is not sold soon. I don't want to hassle with Ebay, I don't want to hassle with posting an ad on Craigslist (damn tweakers!), and I don't want to drive it to a park-and-sell where it could be stolen and never recovered (again damn tweakers!).

Someone should trade me a drift boat and $1000 for this rig. Come on, you never use that drift boat that you have parked at that storage unit anymore, do you?

God I really want this truck! I wish there was an easy way to get it to New Jersey, if there was, there is no way it would be still sitting in the family land! Anyone want to "Mudship" to New Jersey? I am really serious, anyone headed to NJ soon?
I understand your situation, but it would be sad to send it to the crusher!

Zack

Zach1978- Agreed. More than 3 million people come to visit Montana for Yellowstone and Glacier NP's every summer...there could be a MUD member heading this way soon! You could always post an ad in MUDship under "classifieds" or look in the Expedition or Camping areas, to see what MUD members are coming through Yellowstone NP or Glacier this summer...

I drove it another 50+ miles last night through the mud, it is a fun rig to drive. I will continue to fix up some of the small quirks and things that need replaced as time and money allow.

Fresh, new, clean title ready for a notary to transfer ownership to its next owner!!!

I obviously do not want this cruiser to see the crusher. Locally there is an(other) '85 FJ60 with 100,000 more miles on it for the same price that I am asking.

Another FJ60 1983 down the road is for sale: it has 216K, needs a new transmission, and the guy wants $2600...with no transmission...

that is a funny ad. gave me a chuckle.

paul - (3_puppies) agreed. I guess that is one sweet FJ60 without a working transmission in it. The rust on that one was probably a lot
worse that what mine has on it!

Is this truck still in Big Sky? Saw this thread last summer and thought about it, I have a house in Island Park and may be interested but am not headed north until the first of June.

77mustard40 - It is located in Townsend, between Three Forks and Helena.

I just got a sweet job as a Park Ranger out east of Billings, by the Bighorn River though.

I am leaving for that beginning of May, but might be able to show it to you sometime over the summer. It will be likely be in Townsend until somebody buys it...

Thanks, I will keep an eye on your thread and look you up if it hasn't moved. GLWS

77mustard40 - Thanks, please do. It would make a great rig for someone, or a sweet fishing/recreational vehicle.

Still available bump.

Bump back to the top...

still for sale BUMP!

America's Birthday bump!

Still for sale. Drove it to the river a week ago. Ran fine.

I am now looking for a first-gen Tundra, or a 5-speed T100 (in or around Montana) and would be willing to trade up if you have something for sale...
