montanacruiser161- Thanks for the reply. There are a bunch of pics of the engine bay and the undercarriage on page 3 of this post. It is as described. Might be able to get more soon, but a bunch of snow is on the ground under it.

I changed the brake and clutch fluid. Forgot to mention that this rig has a block heater outlet that works good, and seems to heat the coolant.
Also, this rig is probably gonna need a different/new battery because the one in it is probably 5+ years old and it gets down to -30F here every winter.
Willl keep posting up updates. A few people are interested, but no one has come with any ca$h yet...
willing to trade for an older gas saver Toyota, or maybe Subaru or Honda + cash. Would prefer an older Toyota wagon + ca$h. Maybe an early '80's 2WD Toyota truck or first gen 4Runner. Projects considered.
-switched over 31x10.5 yokohama geolandar at/s (60%) on original OEM rims
-changed clutch fluid
-changed brake fluid
-new windshield wiper blades
-new fuel filter
More maintenance to be done tommorrow.
I am going to fix it up, tune it up, drive it around and maybe someone will want to buy this soon. I don't know, I may like it so much I will decide not to sell...
-replaced air filter
-replaced all 6 spark plugs with NGK basic plugs
-cleaned carb with carb cleaner spray and shop towels, and intake extensively with Seafoam spray
-swapped driver and passenger seats, so driver's seat is now in nearly new condition with no tears or stains!
-replaced old gas cap, with new locking gas cap with rubber gasket
-confirmed with Toyota that gas tank recall and seatbelt recall were done in 1994
I drove this around the other night about 80 or 90 miles on dirt roads, more than half in 4WD. All gears work great and shift smooth, in 4HI and 4LO.
I did some hill climbs in 6 inches of snow, and never slipped a tire! This thing is awsome off road on 4x4 trails. 4LO and third gear is a fun combo. There were also a few frozen creek crossings and it did fine on the blue glare ice.
Replacing the fuel filter and air filter seems to have taken care of the stumbling and hesitation issue on inclines. It never skipped a beat in spots where previously it was trying to cut out on me a few years back...
NEW PRICE: $2800 / Best Offer
More fresh maintenance to come...and PICS when I take it 'wheeling during the day!
yep it surprises me too. had a few nibbles but most flaked out on me. I have been working 150 miles from the rig, which makes it hard to set up viewing times. I figured someone would have seen this ad in the last 2 years and tried to beat down my door with cash in hand...
12,000 people have viewed this ad. That is about 4 times the amount of people that live in the town that this truck is parked in!!!
I have full truthful disclosure in this ad. A buyer will not likely find that on CL or MUD very regularly. I am not selling a heap of schrap. I am selling a 1984 FJ60 that runs and drives, and needs a few things.
Please buy my lawn ornament! I would like to invest the money into my expeditionary Tacoma.
I am going to go wheel this rig today and take NEW PICS!!!
I have wheeled this truck twice over the last few nights, through 4inches of slush, over glare ice, up steep hill climbs, through mud and snow drifts. About 90 miles in 2wd and 4WD, more than half of which was in 4L.
It is an awesome backcountry vehicle, and handles well in all conditions.
Here is the most recent photo, with the 31 x 10.5 Yokohama AT/S on it.
Zach1978- Look at pages 1 and 3 of this thread. The pics are posted there.
