I had the same issue in my last 60 warm but not hot air blowing checked out the thermostat and it had fallen apart inside the housing easy cheap fix hope that'll do it for your truck.

Second refill I went 308 miles on 17.425 gallons. Works out to 17.67 mpg. I did note that at 65 mph indicated on my speedometer my gps indicated about 67 mph.

Stopped in at the Toyota dealer and it looks like I could have a new thermostat and gas cap tomorrow am

It just occurred to me that I have everything to change a flat tire except for the rod to crank the spare down as it was not in the truck. Perhaps I'll have to fab something up with a visit to Home Depot.

Put my new H4's in last night and picked up a brand new gas cap and thermostat from the dealer this morning. Little wins.

A number of other Toyota vehicles have the same rod - early trucks, 4-Runners, etc. Do you have a salvage yard nearby?

Second tank of fuel. All flat highway 60-67 mph. 21.374 gallons. 345.7 miles. 16.17 mpg.

Put the old upper gasket in my thermostat and it seems to be working well enough so I have real heat.

Made it to Lincoln Nebraska and decided it was time to get a room for the night. When trucks are passing at +30 mph it tends to be a bit unnerving. Only issues I really have now are the wheel balance makes live miserable above 60mph and for the first time the engine dieseled for a second when I got to the hotel but when I shut it off in the parking lot it was fine.

Tomorrow I'll see if I can find someplace to rebalance my tires. With 1500 miles still to go I would really like a smoother ride.

Tomorrow I am shooting for Milwaukee area. Anyone call that home?

This was how I started my day:I have some photos but they are a pain to post from my phone. When I get home I'll put together a proper report.

I'm in Omaha now getting my wheels rebalanced. With any luck life will be a little nicer. Or if there is still vibration then it's probably shock and loose suspension related.

One wheel is a bit tweaked so it's on the rear now. All 4 tires were pretty far out of balance but things are much better now. Any remaining chatter I blame on the shocks which are probably at EOL and worn spring bushings.

Just got stuck with one of those "Facebook.com-event" pop ups that effectively blocked my ability to use the site. Had to clear my browsing history on my iPhone and then reboot the phone. PITA

Welcome to the addiction. One cruiser never seems to be enough. I saw you said you were going to stop at sears and pick up a tool set. Save the money! Buy a 10, 12, 14 and 17 millimeter wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. That along with a rock and stick will let you do just about anything.

Damned pop up ad keeps preventing me from accessing site. Did about 600 miles today and spending night just in Michigan. Only one issue which scared me in the outskirts of Chicago where I most definitely didn't want to break down. Some sort of fuel or ignition hiccup. Feels like fuel starvation so tomorrow I'll get a new fuel filter. Pump looks good and seems fine. Idles fine too. So hoping it's simple.

Cannot wait to fuel inject this engine. Feels like there is a lot of opportunity to free it up a bit.
