How does the overdrive work?

There is a shifter behind the 4speed you push it forward to engage the overdrive and pull it back to disengage I am not sure if that answers your question or not

Maybe this will help also the bungee is not needed to hold the OD the PO said it was to keep from grabbing the wrong shifter I have driven it without and it work fine

That's cool, I was just curious if it was a switch or how it worked. Pretty neat, I've never seen one. Thank you for the info. Do you know what setup it is? I assume you are running the stock H42 tranny? You can PM me if you want I don't want to bog up your for sale thread.

Overdrive looks similar to this Ranger Overdrive One of the guys in the tech section provided this link. Seems neat, never knew they made a direct bolt in for the stock tranny.

good luck with the sale, i have a ranger OD in my 60 and love it for hwy rpms.

I looked for a fairey before i got my ranger, i loved that it kept everything in stock location. Can't get parts for them anymore so a working one is worth it's weight in gold to anyone who already has one!
