Got it home from Stan today. Got it off the trailer. Filled the radiator. Checked the oil. Splash of gas and it fired right up! Sounded great as well. The 1st hurdle is the gas tank. It is sitting in the passenger seat! Once I figure that out going to baseline it and possibly clean up the frame and sell as is. That cab is heavy!

Cool Gabe! 40 is still here, that kid was a flake.

Lol my brother talked about that 40 all the way home and he is a jeep guy.

Started it up and drove it under its own power about 15 feet or so. Will not idle under its own power. Carb rebuild time. Parts ordered from Rock Auto. Got to label all the little hoses and pull the carb.

Got it idling today. Still a little unclean but I set it at around 1k just to let it run. I could probably drop it back down. Of course as soon as I put it in gear it died and will not restart! May need a new starter. We will see but hopefully not. Going to get the doors on it by the weekend.

That fuel has been in it a while Gabe you may have some gummed up lines. Take a look at the drivers side rear corner of the cab, it may not handle the door well, thus the second cab.

Will have to look at it closer. Big effing hammer may be needed. Figured out the starter issue. Now i got to get tank figured out and probably carb rebuild. May try to clean the frame up after i get it running.

Due to weather and health I have not touched it much. Started it up today but after about a minute or two it dies. Got the parts in for the carb rebuild so guess I need to come off my wallet. Also going to replace the fuel pump and have the alternator checked/rebuilt if needed. Getting there just need some time.

Got the carb off today. Looks pretty grungy inside so i am sure a rebuild is in order.

Got the carb re installed today. Purrs like a kitten. Got it moved to the driveway. Still got to look at the front brakes. Getting some resistance from somewhere. Hoping to get to work on the doors and frame soon.

Worked on it some today. Did a compression test. 120 across the board dry. I changed a bimetal vacuum valve that was broke as well. Here is a link to a video of it running. I am pretty sure I have some vacuum leaks though. May have to redo the gasket behind the intake. Story of my life. Still got to check the brakes up front as well.

Well i found a air leak on the back side of the carb. Then proceeded to break a stud. Going to tap it out to a 3/8". Could not find a 10mm automotive stud.

Worked on it some yesterday and today. Went ahead and retapped the broke carb stud. Got it back together and got the same result until after about ten minutes. Starting to wonder if the electric choke is bad. After about ten minutes it quit idling up and down and smoothed right out. Then it would go good in reverse but not forward. After a couple tries it loosened up and would go forward. So next up is new oil in diff and tranny. Got to work out the front brakes then on to the gas tank. Starting to take shape!

Not if i can straighten out the driver side enough to put the door back on.

Passenger side door is on.

Got the metal bent up for the gas tank hangers this morning. Going to try to install by the end of the week. Also found a custom yellow jacket nest inside the truck!:bang: Got someone sorta kinda interested in the truck so it may be out of my posession before long.

Two areas of concern.
1. body mount
2. crossmember under the bed.

Drove it about a mile today. Idle is still high but getting from point a to point b then back to a is satisfying.:p

Thinking bed removal is next.
