Got the gas tank installed to day. Got to pick up some gas line and should be good to go for now. I will either try to straighten out that piller so I can install passenger door or remove bed/xtra cab next.
 
Started it up went 100 yards and died. Not getting gas. So it is hooked up to single line coming out of top of the tank. There are two other lines coming off of tank but are not hooked up. I think they also are capped off. Either it is hooked up to wrong line or it is blocked. New pump and new lines.:confused:

You were right the pickup was on the left. This thing potentially runs better than my 60! Now to see if i can convince the drivers door on!;) aka hammertime!
 
Going to have to break down and do the cab swap. Oh more rust.

Well its official the door will not go on. Will start working towards a cab swap next I guess.
 
There is a wasp nest inside the passenger seat of the truck. I have killed on average 4 bees a day for three weeks now. They are reproducing faster than i can kill them.:mad:
 
How do you check the egr valve? Will idle at high com's but not lower than say 1200. Went thru half a bottle of carb cleaner and could not find a vacuum leak.:mad:

Drove it for about 10 minutes this morning. Still does not want to idle under 1400rpm. Starts but dies within 30 seconds. Tune up is next.

I need to have the gas tank treated. Any ideas on whom in the greenville area can do it?
 
Thinking chevy 302. Friend of mine has a adapter and a good 3 speed from a 40 i could run. I would need a different rear axle though.thoughts? This truck is not a dd. Wheeling and trash runs only. Guessing different drive shafts as well.
 
Stick with what ya got Gabe. Once you base line that 22R and get things figured out it will run well forever, can not kill those motors. Just because something is available and cheap does not make it the right deal. Just get it running reliably and take her out on the trails.
 
Agreed. The 22r is a solid motor and once the quirks are worked out they are awesome. I love my little motor so much I am getting ready build another one to drop back in. For wheeling you just need gears. I want to build a 22re/5spd 2nd gen 4runner myself. If you want to jump off into the v8 realm, tons and other maddness will soon follow.
 
Put a mini basketball in the dent on the piller behind the door. Got alot of the dent out. Got an idea on how to get that door shut as well.
 
Now if I could just get the pos to idle again.
 
Door closed. Needs a new door hinge for the bottom though. Binds for some reason.
