dude had cash ready and pounced on a good deal. this happens in every corner of our economy, everyday.

why didn't a 'regular' person buy this truck when they had a chance?

you get this freaked out by people that 'flip' houses? everyone gets up everyday with the hopes of buying low and selling high. Keeps the world spinning.

As much as anyone has a right to buy and sell what they want so do others to say what they want.

I don't care that the guy is trying to make a buck. What is troublesome is the lack of production and value associated. Mud has some great vendors making /importing/selling useful or hard to find things and making a living. People appreciate that and I think its a tradition to be supported.

This business model though is something else entirely and is potentially destructive rather than constructive to our hobby. I think its right that a light be shone on it.

The house flippers you mention generally put in a bunch of time/effort/money. None of that has happened here.

To be fair and like I said before. I did try to negotiate with the original seller for 10k when he had it advertised for 13k. He said he couldn't go that low and never reached out again when he went lower. And I never saw it posted for lower. Unfortunately now I don't want to support this so I wouldn't buy it now unless he sold it for the price he bought it. Since no value has been added
This truck has been for sale on Mud since October and know one bought it. We all could have negotiated a better price.

But Op needs to post a price.

For Sale - '84 FJ60. Stock, clean, rust free. 17,000 (Elko, NV)

But OP deleting thread where he was asking about a price is sketchy as well and using PO’s pics and using multiple accounts if true.

It was on Expo as well if I remember correctly.

I agree about no added value is not good.
Seller probably was getting desperate and wanted out from under it. My advice to anyone that is looking at a vehicle and can’t get seller down, keep bugging them until they sell it to you or until they sell it to someone else. Be respectful and responsive in any communications. Patience pays off sometimes.

4.Vendors /Businesses-There is a Vendor corner...I love project builds, but unless you are a PAYING Vendor, please sell your wares in the Merchandise Storefront - this corner is specifically for small business to get started. DO NOT post in general Classifieds either.Oh, and answering a Tech question with 'buy this' isn't an answer, it's soft selling, and I don't like it.

To me, this pretty clearly spells out that Flipper FS ads don't belong in the Classified section of Mud.
