I just didn't want to send information that only you want. The truck is a Saudi truck and I have all the documents. Why would i make that up? :/ I have more information than most who imported from Saudi. The guys number I bought it from. The original registration. Picures of the truck with all orginal paint in Najran Saudi Arabia.
I think they just ran water. I added some antifreeze when I got it. Looks like the oil isn't new but not real bad.

The answer to the other questions is I don't know when the previous owner changed anything. I was planning on changing oil and air filter this weekend. I had the brakes serviced in Saudi and changed the battery when I got it here. I will send you a close up of the firewall and look at it closer when I get home.

$12K max. with all of the unknown/risks involved with buying a rig like this, I'd say that's all its worth. The buyer will need to assume that the engine will need to be rebuilt due to poor maintenance and the rust repair gets expensive very quickly. And it seems that you are assigning it some additional inherent value since its from Saudi Arabia which i think is wrong. An original paint rig from the US is far more valuable unless its something that was never sold stateside, which this isn't.

Try eBay, those guys will buy anything.

OK thanks for your interest.

why don't you put it on eBay,I would bet you get a lot more then $12000 for it. This is not the place to get top dollar for your rig. $30000 is a bit much in that condition maybe even for the eBay morons.

So this is what I call surface rust. Technically it is rust and I was mistaken to say there is no rust. I have never owned a cruiser (or really old car) in the US and I guess my concept of what is rust is different. Rust is what needs to get cut out and grinded out until you get to good metal. What this is what happens to all cars in dry climates that don't get painted. You just have to sand it away and you can paint. Metal is still solid. Only rust for most cars in Saudi are cars on the coast. This not going to bubble up when you paint it or eat away the metal. If it was the rust that has to get cut away it would have eaten away the metal in the 20 plus years it has been on the car (I mean the car is 35 years old). Anyway I will post the last pics of the truck cleaned up. I could have easily painted the bay and interior and I wouldn't be having this conversation because this isn't the flaky rust that you can notice after painting. Quick sanding and paint and it looks like new. Also, I have no problem with people commenting on the price of my truck but to say Ebay buyers will buy anything implies it is not a solid truck. Why don't you come see it and drive it. Bring your FJ40 or 45 and we can drive both.

Bed is a little beat up but original. I have seen nicer beds but they didn't look original. Anyway, thanks for everyone's opinion. I will just refrain from commenting until someone actually sees the truck in person.

You already lost people's interest with the $30k asking price. It is highly doubtful any forum member is actually going to come look at your rig.

Well good luck to everyone finding an FJ45 for 12-15k. I think I will go ahead and clean my up some more. I was thinking people would like to see what the car originally looked like but I guess not. Probably paint the interior and thoroughly clean the engine and engine bay.

He is in Tennessee ,if the cruiser was on the west coast I bet he would have a few people look at it. And probably gotten an offer by now. I would buy it
Tomorrow at $15000 and I think the line would be long at that price. Even with all the so called rust, which you all know is superficial.

Different subject. Who do you guys use to insure your trucks? I got a quote for 800 for a year. Valued at 30k :).

Makes sense. If anyone is in the area come see it and tell me what you think. Even if you are not interested in buying. Also, got a couple of quotes on the interior being painted. No one thought it was a big deal. 1500-2000 with them charging 50 dollars an hour. I don't think it is really a 40 hour job but he gave me what he thought would be the max time required.

Hey bro, welcome to mud! I'm sure you are coming to the realization that you paid more than the vehicle was worth, then paid 2000 to ship, 1000 for customs, and then almost 1000 to register the rig. I know they don't give them away over there...

That's the first issue! Then when that "new" paint job even see's a drop of rain it will rust. I can tell 100 percent it will! I know from dealing with the same issues. I'm not knocking your rig, only saying that mistakes can be expensive. Nobody wants to buy a cruiser for $30k and have to repaint or fix rust.

I would drive it and enjoy it... If not good luck with sale!

Firstly, It has already rained on it. :). Secondly, why would it rust. Thirdly, I saw you sell a cruiser from Saudi and I didn't see a disclaimer that said beware when it rains this cruiser will rust. ;) How long do I have to wait for it to rust so I can make sure I am not deceiving someone.

Also, just to make sure I understand. You import rigs from Saudi and just sold a 1979 truck from Saudi that you had on here for 30+. That truck was painted in Saudi by someone other than you and you didn't have pics of the truck before being painted but you know my truck's paint will rust (%100 sure). It seems you know more about the truck I brought in than the one you imported and sold.

I actually sold the guy a different one with original paint and am doing a frame off on the 79 FJ45. U don't have to be defensive or a smart ass. That paint will rust on the seams.. It already is look at the bed pics! I don't need to go back and forth but if you put about 20k in yours you might can sell it for 30-35k.

So you posted a picture of a truck and then said it was sold but you really sold him another one. Makes sense. If you are not trying to buy this truck, it is really not your business. Especially when you then add comments about realizations I have come to about the price I paid. Like I said, not your business. And I don't care what you do with your trucks. Maybe it will rust in the bed and I don't know but I know what it looked like before they painted it and I didn't see that. You point out the spot you think will get rusted and I will post a close up picture of it. And if you don't have time because you have no bone in this then refrain from making blanket statements you can't back up.

And don't throw out comments like smart ass. What I said is what I said and I wasn't being smart. You have a problem with what I said then you figure out what you need to do.

Once again good luck with sale! You brought me into the conversation when you Said others that import from Saudi.. You don't have fifty something comments because anyone is interested in the truck. You seem tone deaf.
