Looked at the bed and called my guy in Saudi to tell him he did a sh*tty job on the bed. Looks like they didn't sand, prime or do anything to it. Just painted over it and you can see that surface rust coming through and sand they painted over. His response was it is the bed it will get beat up anyway. Anyway two options get it sandblasted and painted or just put one of those bedliners. Opinions?

Here's a 45 for reference:

1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45

Looks like he has a liner in the bed and the floor pan. I hate the concept of not having it original. I am planning on sand blasting and painting the bed again.

That's a good plan! I can't understand why your painter didn't sand and prime the bed. That's shameful.

Because you get ripped off when you are across the ocean. I wasn't there for the paint job and I only got pics of the exterior sent to me. I had a friend's brother that was supposed to be making sure the work was done right but obviously he did not. The truck deserved much better. It was in really really good condition for an 81 truck in Saudi.

Wow, what a:popcorn:

I just had a tech observation, and had to read thru 6pages of drama to see if anyone else picked up on it. Door limiter on rh side is missing, and the A pillar looks like it took enough stress from the limiter to split open. I think it would be appropriate to post a pic of the pillar from the outside, with the door closed, to see how far the stress traveled.
You might want to take a peak inside the right fender where the door would have hit it too.

I have no comment on the price.

Best

Mark

Taking the truck to have interior painted and bed repainted this week. Engine bay cleaned up as well. 25k as is or will get back to you guys in a couple of weeks with new pics.

Your trucks are solid that I can see its what they where used for and how much they where worked.... They look like very used hard worked trucks that has to be expected........ If I was going to buy one off you I would use it as my landscape truck for advertising and small light duty jobs and no winter or bad weather jobs.........

If you ever restore a landcrusier try not to drive it and rain and never in the winter.,

Anyone interested in seeing either one of my trucks 4239037545. 1982 PS being worked on now (rust in bed) and the 81 shown above. Texting is best.
