Seat belts landed at seat belt planet for reweb.

Minor shipping damage (?) on the @FJ60Cam 4.4L 2F.

Pass side must have been dropped at some point. Drivers side has no recess.

Used the mounts off the engine that came out.

Full disclaimer - Those were the only loose mounts we had laying around, they didn't come with the block and the block wasn't dropped with them!

There *is* an Easter Egg on the thermostat housing tho. The first one to spot it wins a prize

More shots of the header fit.

Rest of the exhaust will be 2.5" stainless, magnaflow muffler and a resonator. Whole thing including header will be ceramic coated using a “cast iron” color so it won’t disappear against the black on the underside of the truck.

Plan is to do as much of the fab this round as possible. Rust repair, trans tunnel mods for gas pedal and shifter(s), exhaust and maybe even the fuel tank and front bumper mod to fit an 8274.

Header fit is spot-on!!!

Got the keys to my new shop. Found a butcher shop nearby. Took sandwiches and some duck home for lunch and dinner.

Flying to Austin Weds to get the diesel-swapped lx450 from @samc2447 so I can drive it back to Denver and then on to Wa state with the wife. I’ll finally get to see BATPIG on the way back.

I was going to comment that I have not seen that thermostat housing config before!
No oil cooler down low, eh?

Wife decided she’d rather fly to WA state.

They all sit crooked from the factory.

So, front motor mounts are stock. Front of engine stock offset to ds 4.75"

Rear tcase is hitting floor, and the back of the tcase is 2" less offset than the front. As a result, the tcase hits floorboards. Easy fix, just cut them away. Bigger issue is that clearance between the header and steering box gets very close. Will deal with that later.

Net-net: stock powertrain was set crooked in the chassis.

Mark called Roark @ Valley Hybrids who told him they set them straight on drivetrain swaps

Powertrain offset is now the same as front on stock mounts. Chassis at 0.0deg for reference, powertrain 3.0deg down at back.

No mounting tabs, yet. They go on last after the whole center of the mount is welded and finished, as the center moves or “pulls” with welding. TIG welded inserts in the frame rails keep it all in place.

Tabs and inserts are next.

Rear crossmember is 1.5" dia, 0.1875 wall DOM. Smaller tube is 1.0” dis, 0.120” wall.
