I hope to get the quarter panel finished this weekend and take it to the media blaster ASAP. He will blast it and seal it with an epoxy primer.

I am ready to get this thing painted :)

OK, I have gotten a good bit of work done over the weekend and still have tomorrow, labor day. That is what I plan to do... labor.

1. I got the passenger side quarter panel reinstalled with the patch panel. I have to do a little more welding and grinding, but it is 90% done.

2. Cut out the vent box in the cowl. This tub is older 75-76. I have the original cowl and there was not a vent so I am deleting this one. I will weld in a patch panel after I get it back from the media blaster.

3. Finished getting the sound deadner off the driver side floor.

What is left to do before media blasting???

1. I need to finish shaping the gas door opening.

2. I need to finish grinding and cleaning up the welds on the patch panels.

3. I need to clean up all the plug welds on the wheel wells.

4. A little more misc. clean up of welds, holes filled, etc.

I am hoping to finish it tomorrow... which probably means a couple more weeks :)

I need to post some pics and an update. Here are a couple of my latest YouTube vids. I will post more soon.

I got the body sand blasted today. I took it home and sealed it up with some epoxy primer. I am planning to put it on the chassis and put the doors and top on to install the hinge brackets. I will also install the spare tire carrier and mount the bracket for that as well.

Wow well would you look at that! That thing is coming along nicely. I wonder if you had the chance to film this progress or did you just get the work done without the camera? You might even have a chance of driving this by next spring. Good luck and I'll be watching.

Are you putting it back to sky blue or some other color?

Thanks!

Yes I filmed it. I have enough film for two YouTube vids. I will update ASAP.

Yes, I am 90% sure that I am going back to Sky Blue.

:)

I only had one rear door hinge bracket and I need two of them so I fabricated a second one out of an old fender and a used hood from a Honda Accord. I am pretty proud of my fab job. This is a first time attempt of something like this for me :)
