UPDATE

T-case saver is on its way - Thanks Orangefj45 and great price!!

I picked up a few engine parts from my powder coater today you are going to think i am crazy. I am going for the sleeper look. Infact i thought about flat black for the tub. My main objective is for it to be super clean and stay that way for a long time. I like the way all my powder coated stuff has stayed clean in the past. I dont want the Bling Bling effect!! So i asked a friend what color should i have the bits and peaces done in and he joked and said primer grey.

So............

I am still beating myself up between 4x4labs which is SWEET but spendy and Marlin and Downey which are also nice.
Just for an FYI since sometimes people wonder it cost me 80.00 to have that stuff coated and the color name was PRIMER GREY LOL not that you will want to copy that

I Just ordered energy suspension body mounts. I hope they dont transfer vibration and noise to bad! Any bad experiences with any poly body mounts?

I like the grey.Me no bling bling person either.

I have the Marlin Complete high steer kit coming! Thanks again Orangefj45 for help with both items. I hope to throw some of my engine together this weekend. I am curious to see if i am going to be able to still utilize my PTO winch (Drive shaft clearance?) I hope so that is why i went with the scout box instead of the chevy saginaw box.

thanks bud, glad i was able to help. please let me know when both orders get there just so i know everything is well taken care of. again, thanks for the business, i do appreciate it!

as far as the pto goes, that might be tough but hopefully you'll have enough clearance to sneak the scout box between the frame and the pto drive shaft. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.;)

It looks close.... to close to guess.... :frown: Oh well I have an electric too, just thought why if....... Thanks again I will let you know!

UPDATE:
  • T-case saver showed up looks flawless! Thanks
  • Polly body mounts showed up and look as you would expect them to LOL
  • I threw the rotors on for the rear disc setup that i got from POSER and they fit perfect as suspected. One thing i wondered is if i needed longer studs but they worked fine even with aluminum wheels as POSER told me they would
  • Still waiting on high steer but no issues i am not ready and there was great communication!!
  • Finished with sanding frame, degreasing, and applying second coat of chassis por paint due to my two dinky runs i tried to fix and ended up with dry patches. (oh ya i purchased thinner for it and forgot it at home and rather than drive back i thought my new HVLP gun would be fine and AGAIN it sprayed like CRAP!!!!) That stuff in my opinion must be thinned!!! Just an FYI for others
  • Rear-end is under it, all spring pads are just tacked for now until the cab and engine are back on it for weight so i can see what angles i need.
Now i have a couple questions that i would like help with:
  • Is there enough room with a normal height set up on a 350 for a RPM air gap intake and still a decent height air filter? (I would kick my own butt if i had to go with a hood scoop....)
  • What do you guys think about the colors below?? A similar dark grey for main body and - I know they are suppose to have a white top but silver might not look to bad or a way off white???

i dig the colors. charcoal is one of my favorites. period.

as for the intake, you won't have any problems. there will be more than enough clearance for the air-cleaner.

yup, steve aka poser is not only a cool dude and a great guy to deal with, but he definetly knows his cruisers. i have dealt with him plenty in the past and will continue to do so.............

quick question for ya - i'll be doing my axles tomorrow and I am too doing a disk conversion.. you need to take the axles off to get the backing plates off right? is it as easy as taking the pin out of the 3rd member.. popping off the c-clips and sliding the axles out? anything i should replace while I'm in there.. wheel seals etc?

yup, you're on the right track. make sure you get a good look at the wheel bearing surface towards the end of the axle shafts. i'd replace the outer axle seals while they're out as well......

i should probably just look at my FSM but... for my chevy 10 bolt axle the seals where tapped into the axle housing over the bearing which was also in the housing..

does the toyota axle have the seal and bearing on the axle.. does that make sense? any special tools required?

everything is placed in the housing, not onto the axle shaft. you'll see a seal, then a bearing and then a flat washer. the seal will be easy to remove/replace.

Thanks Orangefj45 and sorry ant i was out all day scouting for elk! Orange hit it on the head no problems what so ever just do exactly what you said and don't worry about the seal (no extra tools needed) but it would be a good idea to replace them while you are there since you may be disturbing a 30 year old seal...... Also you dont have to take your axles out if you dont want to you can cut the backing plates off if you want they arent worth &%%& anyway i couldnt even give them away for free. LOL

really?? that's too bad - i hate getting rid of the stuff I'm not using.. it's not like they make it anymore!

Not quite cruiser parts but this is what has been slowing down my build:

After four months of searching for a header panel i finally just bought one from jeep for 330.00  Luckily i have a painter friend that we swap work so thanks to him and an evening of painting my cherokee is back on the road (still need to order a new turn signal lense)
