I'm pretty sure it was original, this tub is actually a 74 tub not sure if that makes a difference or not.

On another note, do you sell at your shop the piece that you mount to your carb that the hose connects to that runs to the snorkel?

That would be sweet! I am doubtful at this point but definitely would be cool. Are you allowed in if you don't have a parking brake? I've been to a couple parks in the midwest that requires a parking brake and one place actually checked.. I need a. Parking brake but I would have to start from scratch only thing there is the empty parking brake drum and the handle in the cab

I had one but noone asked me about it  I think I have a extra one texted me later tonight and I'll ck

You don't need a parking brake just to show up and hang out. I say you should come for the camaraderie, whether you're able to wheel or not. That truck is gonna be too pretty to wheel anyway. ;)

I think I got him ready to go .... Cruiser or not :D ... I ready to go now

Lol your right, it will be too pretty or at least I hope it runs as nice as I'm hoping it looks.. I think I'm going to go, Amy and I are at the symphony right now and I just ran it across her she said have fun! What's the is it 75 per vehicle and 80 for entrance? What do tag alongs pay?

Joel you definitely are hooking me up mate! I appreciate it and I'm pretty fired up about going. I'm gonna register tomorrow to go..

No worries brother glad I had the parts you need ... If you don't drive all you have to pay is for food And camping... So I would hold off on signing up till you know if your driving... But if course if you pay to drive you'll make sure your done;). That's what I do
I have a LONG list of crap to still do

Daniel, that is looking great!! Did you figure out the speedo cable?

Kevin that is a very good question.... I actually forgot all about the speedo cable until today. I was organizing my parts shelves and found my new cable under a stack of crap. With that said, no I haven't but I need to(like 6 months ago needed to). I need to find a shop to convert the one side over unless I can find another speedo cable on the Internet that has the right attachments already which is doubtful.

On another note, the fuel sending unit I received from autometer definitely isn't for my tank unless I drill all new holes because none of the holes line to the tank. I had a fuel sending unit that I got from another guy a while ago that told ms it was new and came out of a fj40 but it was obvious that it didn't come out of a tank like mine because it wouldn't fit the opening. So I ordered a new stock one through Brett's crew at Cavender's Toyota and hoping that the autometer fuel gauge will work with the stock sending unit because I've ran dry on options. I'm not an electrical genius at all and I know the "ohms" matter here, but I couldn't find any info on the stock sending unit in order to compare it to the autometer sending unit comparing the electrical stuff. If anyone knows, would much appreciate the advice..

Just made some hillbilly rubber gaskets for my stock rollbar to put between the rollbar feet and the wheelwells. I'm hoping that this will prevent water from getting underneath the feet. My last tub was pretty rusted out underneath the feet. Anyways, just used some 6"x6"x1/8" rubber packing sheets that you can find at Lowes in the plumbing section, marked the outline of the feet and bolt holes. The rubber is a brown color but oh well...

Thanks chris for the lead on the rubber sheets. Perfect size and I think I'm going to make some other gasket out of the stuff.

Well not much has changed since my last post. Slowly coming back together. Anyways here's a list of the latest.

1. Tried to mount the JTO fiberglass tranny cover. It doesn't fit/work. It's molding is off by about 2 inches so I'm in the hunt for a OEM one.

2. Since I used a 74 tub, the gas pedal and linkage is slightly different so I was capable of sourcing those parts from Brett at Cavender Toyota and fellow mudders by the wanted section in classifieds.

3. It looks like my AWL TEQ snorkel will be here soon. I have a weber carb so I purchased the snorkel adapter from redline for the carb. I also ordered a universal air box from river raider

http://www.riverraider.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=air box&product_id=83

4. I had purchased a oil pan gasket from CC but decided against using it because of it's composition. I ordered a new OEM toyota gasket from a vendor here(I apologize need to look up his mud name, but Stewart is his name)

5. My better half bought me a 60 inch hi lift jack for my birthday, she is good!

6. Ordered the hood struts from quick lift. I believe a couple guys here are using them for their 40 and after watching fieldskins (not sure if that's right) YouTube video I decided I wanted them so the hood opens evenly and I don't have to scratch the paint leaning it against the windshield.

Anyways that's all I have done lately. It's been slow, but progress is being made.

You can also use vinyl shower curtain liner for this purpose. Lowe's and Home Depot sell it by the linear foot in the plumbing department. It's Navy battleship gray, ~1/8" thick and easy to cut with scissors.

Is that Sam Stewart from Lowe Toyota?

Good score on the new jack. I'm sure you told your wife you really "needed" it. ;)

Lee,

You know all the whose who of mud. Yes, Sam Stewart with Lowe Toyota is the fine gentleman that sold me the gasket at a great price. Speaking of him, we actually talked about another order I haven't placed but hope to soon. Great prices, great service!

Lol she doesn't even know what the contraption is, but of course I stretched the truth and told her I "needed it.". I am a extremely hard person to buy for since I always just buy what I want and usually what I haven't purchased is too expensive to have someone buy as a gift. They usually just buy me underwear since I've been known to wear 15 year old undies in order to put that money towards a tool or in this case a part for the 40.
