They look great. Thank you very much @ToyotaMatt.

thank you very much ,

i have updated Nolan with the shipping and tracking info for the EMS / Express mail packet heading your way
H55F fast ............ :)

I got the word on Wednesday that the seats and dash pads were ready for pickup at Cruiser Corps.

We discussed shipping but we knew it would take a lot of crate work and padding as they were all bulky and easily damaged.

I cleared it with my bosses (Red and John) and took off Thursday.

I took the slow route and even detoured through Tulsa to see my boys at MEO

It’s about 8 hours hauling ass but I turned it into a 12 hour day of easing around and eating good

Mike met me early and we show-horned the bench seat into my 200. With the rear drawers there is little room for bulky items as these …. Mike’s DD…..

I took the scenic route home after I left Cruiser Corps and cut through SE Oklahoma and picked up some Choc beer and slow boated it through the mountains home

The 200 got 17 mpg going home because I was driving 65-70 max.

I like having time to hit backroads

I got to work this morning installing the seats.

The cores I provided needed a LOT of work and his fab guy basically made new rear jump seats. These with the slanted bottom are period correct for a 72.

I managed to get all of this in without marring the paint. Miracle.

@Indygbd sent a couple of items that needed to be painted back and I was able to install the passenger kick vent and the jack rods

Interesting. I’ve never seen the long jump seats with the notch at the rear doors instead of behind the front seat. Is that FST specific?

Got a first drive in. Steers good. Stops good. Sounds good. Can’t go far. No windshield. I tried to get one in by my gasket was super sticky. Never seen one so that before. Had to order another one.

Oh hell. Looks like when the fab guy cut the rears up and replaced all the tubing the bases got reversed.

🤦‍♂️

How did it drive? Do you like the sniper system?

It drove nice and smooth and straight. This is the first intentional manual steer truck I’ve built knowing the box had so few miles on it.

As for the snipers, I’ll have to do an official count but I’m getting close to 15 of them I have installed. They are a no-brainer for these motors.

I have spoken to others including Jeremiah Profitt who are not fans and have had trouble. Still not sure what direction to take the fj45. Let me know your thoughts. I might need some help along the way.

Most people that have problems with them don’t understand them. They go with what they know. JP loves 3FEs because he knows them. They are highly complex compared to the Sniper but if you know them back and forth like his shop does, sure, go Toyota. I literally love the fully desmogged one I have in my manual transmission FJ80.

Would I put one in a 65 fj45? Not a chance. Way too many wires and used parts.

99% of peoples Sniper problems are input problems.

Bad fuel via bad tanks. Bad O2 placement. Not following proper setup procedure.

To me there are 2 choices. A JimC carburetor or a Sniper for a 2F.

Weird though, the hood latches don’t have the proper groove to latch it down. I don’t have another one here to look at but is this the only way they come now?
