Looking to sell my fj soft top. It has the factory tail gate and soft top bows. I have an aftermarket soft top that I bought from Ehsan Kiani in Pakistan. It has not been installed yet. The truck is mostly stock. All original F1 enfgine (has a mallory dual point right now), 3 spd on the tree. Motor was rebuilt years ago but has not been driven much. It does run and drive. Brakes are new. I have the original owners manual and some of the original tools. It also has the optional factory door straps to use when the doors are off (these are the straps that look like a fair ride). Odometer stopped at 52K so miles are unknow. Has only been driven less than 500 miles since about 2000. Has rust in the back of the bed near the tail gate. Other than that rust is minimal. Original paint. Not sure of value so taking offers. I am near Sacramento CA. Havinnf trouble with pics. My profile has 3 pictures.

Now asking $9K or best offer. Note that I have TWO new soft tops. These are both from Pakistan (Yes Ehan's tops). Neither has ever been completely installed. I can put one on for a photo op if needed. For the right price you get the rig and both tops. I just found the spare tire carrier and the original owners manual.

I found the origianl owners manual. I also have a spare tire carrier. There is also some extra canvasc t came with the tops. Price reduced to $8,000 obo. I wont be selling the second top until I sell the fj.

The front passangerI side has no rust. The front drivers side has some surface rust. There is rust along the seam along the edge of the rear wheel wells where they attach to the tub. From what I have seen in other posts this is normal and minimal. There is one spot on the top of the drivers side rear wheel well that is bubbled. The worst spot is the area where the tail gate mounts.

Here are some more pics on photobucket. Copy and paste this:

cool- thanks for pics and details. i think based on having looked at 40 prices now for quite some time- it seems like rigs in the 8k range typically have quite a bit less rust/ disc brake conversions/ power steering conversions and most pm stuff attended to.

I think the $4k range seems to be what stockers are fetching in various states of rust conditions. stock rims and hubcaps are a plus- same with dune color(most popular).... The softops are a bonus $1k each....and not having a hardtop to some might be a $1k detractor. So i think in the $5k-$6k range you would get alot of serious attention and people who would be ready to tackle the rusty sill and corners replacement. just more of an fyi since you are recent to the forum and it may save you lots of time vs guessing at what people are probably thinking.

^^ wrong... Just put it up on Ebay and watch what happens. This forum has a tendency to to believe all rigs are 4k and anything nice is 8k, super nice and fully restored are 15k.

Now dont everyone jump down my throut on this, all I am saying is there are alot of people on this forum who feel that way. I am not one of them. These rigs are getting harder and harder to find in original condition. Much less a FST. Like I said put it on Ebay after you give it a nice detailing, and see it go for 8-10k...

**End Rant**

original condition yes- but when you have to cut up the rear sill and corners.......are you going to paint it and match the original color faded original paint somehow? at that point you are repainting the whole rig and its gone from original faded sweetness to -- glossy new $3k paintjob:flush: gloss needs to be removed from landcruiser restoration vocabulary imho.

Dont get me wrong- i think you would be spot on if it didnt need to have the rust attended to and then subsequently painted- which isnt going to match the 40yr old patina.

If the engine were completely shot and it had no rust that needed attending to--i could very well see this fetching a bit more as it would be easy to keep the exterior "original" looking.

FST rig with bows, straps, soft doors, original tool kit, manuals, etc. - I'd pay $8K if I was in the market. Wish I was in the market.

My fj is still for sale. A few good offers have come in but it is not sold yet. Anyone else interested here? Ebay next.... PM with any questions.

Neither top has ever been installed. They are just as they came from Pakistan. They are not exactky right. My plan was to have them fitted by a upholstery shop and have them re-locate the starps as needed.

I'd buy it for $5500 and bring a trailer this weekend as is.

If I were you (or if I were buying and flipping) I'd ditch the diamond plate, clean it all (engine compartment, underneath, etc.), ditch the crappy fog lights, hitch and straighten the bumper, install one of the tops and the seat covers and put a $100 exhaust on it, then put it up on ebay with about 50 pictures.

Do you have both door straps? How's the other door? I only see one. Do the door windows function? How does it look down in the cowl vent? As for fixing that rust, the rear half of the tub needs to be disassembled, IMO. Big job.
