Pics show how low the old pan was compared to the new one. It hung about 1" to 1.5" below the crossmember the new one is well above it

Dipsticks doing dipstick things. Had to bend and space the dipstick tube around the new engine mounts and space it a bit at the head but it lined up and isn't in the way.

Found out my last 2 ps coils are super close to the heater core box... Might try cutting down the mount posts on the valve cover a little. The last one is the close one since the box tapers out but the 2nd last one isn't much better.

When you think a job is gonna be fairly simple....

I thought finding the right location for a hole for the shifter cable was gonna be the pita part but.. There was a perfect spot for it on the rib under the seat. Cool. The bracket that bolts to the trans and anchors that end of the cable was not the right one amd nothing lined up so I modified it. Cool. Works great till I put it in 1st then, due to the arc the shift lever on the trans swings at, the throw is short and doesn't end up at the right spot on the shifter. Hits all the other gears now though.

I'm thinking the cable mount on said bracket needs to be moved up higher and pointed slightly down to fix this but I've given up for now. I'll think about it on my night shifts lol.

Took a break from the shifter bracket and messed with a bunch of random stuff after I got up from night shift yesterday.

Got the windshield washer lines secured and the cowl back on. Took the opportunity to fix some over spray from the white stripe while it was off. I redneck plugged the vent hole in the fuel filler neck, rewrapped the headlight wiring that runs across the rad support, found some door seals from.. something to use as a seal across the top of the rad, glued the bottom rad bushing to my custom uhmw wedge spacer lol, cleaned and touched up the cab floor, moved the battery isolation switch higher on the trans tunnel.... and probably something I'm forgetting.

Anything to avoid the bracket of frustration.

New summit trans pan came in. I wanted one with a drain plug was the reason there.

Got back into the role of a trigonomisist and mathed out shifter bracket 3.12.

It needed to be mounted higher and at an angle to match the arc of the shift lever. When it was mounted "in line" the throw would get shorter as I went through the gears and by the time I got to 1st the shifter was just slightly past 3rd if that makes sense.

She's not pretty but she's solid lol.
