Yes, we're very happy with the 45! As cult said: it is amazing how original it is. The frame is excellent. There is even still paint on it. The body is not that good. Lots of rust repair to do. Floors, doors, rear sill and the roof. Luckily there is enough inspiration for that work here on this 45 forum.
The shift stick is moving again. The drive line must have been under tension. The clutch is stuck and so is the engine. After we drained the engine oil we put the valve cover back on. Through the crankcase ventilation hose we filled the engine with old but clean hydraulic oil we had. We stopped when it came out of the dip stick tube. We also drained the gearbox and also there was a lot of water. We'll fill this with hydraulic oil too. Probably this car has been under water for some time. The door cards look like they've been quite wet and the bottom of the front doors are filled with clay. Guess we'll never know what happened.
First thing to do is getting rid of the water, fill everything with oil so the rust inside the driveline won't get worse then it already is, and the remaining water will sink to the bottom. Then invite the RDW, that is the Dutch registration instance. They will identify the car to be sure it can be registered once it's ready.
And after that we'll probably park it until the 62 fj40 is ready. Which won't be finished this year (and we have no deadline).
Then, some time in the future, we'll start with this 45V. I think we will do it like the 62 FJ40. First get it on the road, drive it for a little while and then restore it. An engine rebuilt will be the first thing to do, after that the rest of the drive line and the brakes.
But that will be way ahead in time. It's nice to have a next project in line. That'll put a little pressure on the current restoration

. Looking forward to start with this one.
