Sometimes I should just keep my thoughts to myself...did not mean to stir up so much talk about bumpers with my initial comment, but all good info to know

dont' forget the two holes in the front where people mount the madonna boob looking rubber cone bumpers. ;)

later models have more holes, foglights in different local (iirc), bracket for hand crank, not sure what else, but i remember getting a new bumper for my 45s bashed up one and being a bit dismayed by all the holes. i'll try to remember to get a pic when i get home

FJ25 had the holes in the front. Other than the holes for the mounting brackets it has all the same holes as the 75 FJ40. :meh:

My Wife said No FJ,,,,,,,,,,I have always admired all your comments on Mud, the one's that I have read over the past few years. Your detailed and have such a passion for these cruisers. I have learned a lot from you. Thanks

bumper pictures. early vs. late (on the late model, the two groups of four in the face were drilled after the fact)

Your early one is missing the two holes for the hand crank bracket.Took a look at eleven bumpers. Two from pictures of ones from up north and nine in the garage. All but one had the hand crank bracket holes. One didn't. I believe that one was off my 63 hard top I bought out of a junk yard. It is a 62 production cruiser 2FJ40 15956. Is the bumper on Annie the original bumper? Did Toyota drop the holes in 62 then start them again?

LIVING IN THE PAST,,,,,is that your FJ25 in that pic above? Dang,,,,,,,that thing is beautiful!!!

Ya that is one of mine. Was bought eleven years ago as a parts donor for my white. To complete to part it out so it's been sitting on the back burner ever since. Needs rust repair to the floor. A PO had it stored outside up in Oregon. The tarp he was covering it with leaked and held all the moisture in. Real shame even the rear sill is in good shape. The PO had some emails from a much earlier owner that gave me a pretty good history of the vehicle. Started in N. CA and was mainly sold and store in OR. I have at least keep it dry and out of the weather.

Horn, Horn Button and Steering Wheel.

I restored the original 51 year old horn button best I could. Those who have restored a horn button know what a PAIN IN THE ASS it is. It took me 4 tries. Having the horn button plated was so nice but then the painting begins and that is thankless work. Sounds ez but for me, no. The horn works perfectly and looks pretty darn nice against the restored steering wheel. So,,,,,,,,,,,,,DONE!!! At least done with the Horn and S.Wheel.

Good question Red. Please have a look at your wheel and horn if you get time and let me know. Obviously my tires at the moment are staring straight ahead, wheel is on the way it's on so I figured button looks straight at me when I am driving?

My original s. wheel position.

Thanks for bringing it up Red. Here is my original S. Wheel position from this pic I took last September. Looks like we put the S.Wheel back in wrong? lol.

Your cruiser used to be column shift and is now 3 speed on the floor correct? Hmm, I guess your s. wheel may have come off as well at some point. What position is yours in at the moment?
