I am looking at getting new wheels/rims and after spending hours searching this site, I am still not 100% certain of what to go with. Being in Canada makes things difficult and I want to avoid spending $400++ (CAD) on 5 new wheels.

I am not too worried in having the hubcap clips. I know about the City Racer, FJ Co., Fifteen52, and 504 Nomad wheels but they are $$$$$!

Fitment:
1973 FJ40 - currently have 16"x7" '01-04 Tundra rims with a spacer that I want gone. No lift currently, but down the road a 2.5" lift.
Currently running BF KO2s 235/85R16 (9.3"x31.7"). I would like to run these and at some point put on 255/85R16 (33.1x10")

The Toyota OEM rims I am looking (available in Canada) at are:
42601-60262-03 - 16' x 5.5"? for $100 CAD (not 100% sure on rim width)
42601-60362 (70/80 series wagon wheel rim?) - 16" x 8"? for $130 CAD (not 100% sure of rim width)

Will my current tires fit these rims?
Can I get rid of the spacers with either of these OEM Wheel options?

I know this has been covered before but I am looking for clarification. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Being in Canada you should be able to find the oem 16” split rims … usually people sell them cheap as not too many people want them

They are not widow maker rims… toyota split ring rims are well known world wide to be the safest for their design

I have run mine for over 20 years … my last set I got for free

Great rims and you can do your own tire changes … just no clips… those are pretty rare to find

Interesting, I didn't think of the split rim option. Thanks

Ran split rims along with the original 5 1/2 inch wide rims back in the 70s-90s, and have kept some to mount period 7.50-16s just for fun. Avoid them if you don't want to deal with tubes, modern tyres have internal ribs that don't like tubes much. And split rims need rust bands as well. If you're going for originality all good, if you're just after a daily runner the late 40s and 60s series 6 hole rims work well, they're 6 inches wide, 15 or 16 diameter and tubeless. 0 offset, don't need spacers

Thanks for the perspective on the split rims. I think I want to go with a modern wheel and am still focused on the Toyota factory rims I listed in my original post. Just can't find many details on the sizing of them and if they will work. They are relatively cheap and that is appealing.

235/85R16 or the 255/85R16 will work on the oem style wagon wheels

Thanks for this and I did see that thread, but doesn't tell me the difference between the 42601-60262-03 and the 42601-60362. Both are available and trying to figure out which ones to go for. I think the 42601-60362 are a wider rim? Of course the dealership has no details on either...
