Hi all
After cooking my clutch in my 1985 12 volt bj70 on the weekend I have decided to swap in a 24 volt 13 bt sometime in the next week to replace the tired 3b. The 13 bt is a 1989 blue block (8 bolt flywheel) I have read that it is different to the original 3b 6 bolt flywheel. Are the body mounts the same ? Is it a in and out or is some modification needed ? I would also like to keep the truck 12 volts so any info on converting the engine to 12 volts welcome. Are the electronics the same on the post 1988 13bt's the same ?
-cheers in advance :)

I had a 86 BJ-70 that had a 13BT swapped in. I would guess the engine mounts would be the same location. As far as swapping 24V for 12V you would probably need to have both engines side by side and start swapping parts to see what fits or doesn't from between the two. The only big thing I can think of would be how effective the glow screen would be running 12V through it instead of 24V. Maybe also the fuel shut off solenoid ?
