In Sweden they're connected to the plumbing with a rubber seal and either glued or bolted to the floor... Independently from the seal
That sounds logical. Go figure 🤣

And to get away from toilets and back to shop cleaning.

Finally thought of a use for the used ubolts I seem to have a ton of...

I’ve got a brass repair flange that I’ll secure to the concrete floor with a handful of concrete tapping screws.

The rubber seals don’t actually seal as well as wax in my experience. I’ve never had trouble with wax seals so long as the flange doesn’t break.

Back to 40… front axle is in. Only thing left is to replace the last couple TREs and set the toe in. And retorque the lug nuts and u-bolts, and swap in the ASCO hubs, and replace the rear bench, and repair the bottom of the door jam, and, and… the joy of owning a 50 year old 40 series.

I know this should really go in the hardcore corner section, but then I wouldn't be able to hear @Rigpig rolling his eyes...🤣

Little roadtrip out to ucluelet so I had to give swmbo some modern conveniences.

A cupholder that I accidentally made look like a piston...I might have to make some wrist pin holes in it just because.

And a boxing octopus purse holder.🤣

Almost t-shirt weather.

Octopus purse holder…. ****ing just spat out my beer. I love the piston cup holder. Wrist pins would look sweet. But where do you stop, Piston ring grooves?

Haha I actually put a couple gooves in it, that's when I realized I was making a piston 🤣

All cruiser projects are currently delayed while I finish off this little thing.

Self amplified and powered, and small enough to fit in my locker at work. 😁

I figure instead of watching an episode of mindless trash during the middle of the night downtime, I can maybe learn something.

Pretty slick… :D

Very cool!

Thanks it's a fun little thing. Fits in a baritone ukelele case 🤣
I just saw this and it made me think of the one you made...

I'd imagine a passenger would be real popular carrying a case like this into an airport.

Looks like the donner silent guitar. Supposedly pretty good, my problem is ambient noise in the control room. I wanted something as easy to play as an electric, but I knew from past experience, I wouldn't be able to hear an unplugged electric. And I didn't want wires or cables, or earbuds, just easy to set down if I needed to deal with some alarms.

When I was looking for a bag to carry it in, it occurred to me it'd probably fit in a rifle case.... buuuut that might not be a great thing to be seen carrying in and out of work.

I brought a forest fire fighters axe (Pulaski) into our shop where I used to work and left under my workbench for the weekend... Someone dug through my stuff under my bench and it caused all sorts of crazy BS. "It could be used as a weapon..."

I had a workbench with 5 different scalpels, 3 razor sharp skiving knives (for tapering heavy leather), a 10" long razor sharp knife for splitting shoe soles, 4 different hammers, various 2-3 foot lengths of pipe and solid bar, wrenches, drills, etc... and they were concerned about an axe under my bench.

It was unbelievable... It was the equivalent of someone getting excited at someone bringing a knife to a gun shop. There were at least dozen tools sitting at my bench that could be used as deadly weapons... (I forgot to mention 2-3 box cutters) and they got in a tizzy because I had a dullish axe I wanted to make a sheath for under my bench.

People can be ridiculous sometimes... If someone was attacking me, I wouldn't ignore the 10 razor sharp knives that would easily cut through 8 mm of vegetable tan leather and go digging for my 3 foot long axe... so stupid.

Hence the "fits in my locker" portion of the build.

I have more coffee and meal breaks during a 12hr night shift than I need.

I mean, I'll take the breaks but I don't feel much like eating or drinking coffee at 3am.

So I don't feel bad about bringing in something to help pass the time.
No different than reading a book. :meh:

But it’s much more dangerous to your colleagues… ;)

These days I think books might be more dangerous.
Information that hasn't been filtered through an idiot's podcast is foreign.
No kidding... my son is in Calgary and some of the people we saw there are quite nutso... One example, "It's the only good place left in Canada.... the rest has gone to Sh!t", "The USA is good though... at least most of the states." I just kept my moth shut and didn't argue with him on front of his wife that looked 25 years younger than him and his 4 month old baby... He probably hates immigrants also... even though he immigrated himself 15-20 years ago.

Sitting around a campfire, playing a guitar, and having a beer seems better than so much of the hate out there.
