I could entertain two different LockBoxes but only if the qtys were there. If I'm making this for five people then it may not see the light of day.

I would prefer just the bottom half be locked. It would allow for a false bottom to nearly completely conceal the lockbox if desired and you still get some usable center console space for quick access items when security isn't a concern. Sunglasses, camera, snacks, etc. But then again, I can see why some people would just want a larger lockbox and not care about having usable space above it. Tough call.

As far as price point, I'm really not sure. I think 120-150 seems reasonable.

Just my two cents

X2

Personally, I would also rather have some space that is NOT locked.

I'm in at that price point, possibly a little more.

X2. False bottom and unlocked storage and easy 12v access sound like a winner to me. Also like the combination lock over key lock, fwiw.

X3 on this

Combo lock is an issue. If I use the Combo lock then it means that the entire locking mechanism gets pushed back further than the Medeco lock. This means:

• Two different dies are required to be made at $650 a pop my cost. I'm already making the die for the Medeco key embossment.
• Two different lids needs to be made to accommodate because hole location is different.
• Locking cam is different so requires a second cam.

Of course this is all moot is the combo lock or keyed lock don't need to sit below the lid to make it flush. But then that defeats the purpose of making a concealed lid and concealed box.

I also like the smaller lock box that preserves the power port. As long as it holds a pistol, wallet and phone. Keyed works great for me.

Its looking like this would be the best way. I could make a keyed slot that would relocate the 12v outlet up but it doesn't buy you nor I anything. Better to just build up to that point.

This is what it would look like from the top view. Also added a couple of view with a full-size 1911 superimposed so that you can see how much space there will be. It *might* be difficult to quick draw a full size .45 ACP Kimber 1911, but any compact firearm would be perfect...IMHO.

The graphics with the M9 overlay really help.

The combo lock isn't a deal breaker for me, but nice to have.

I agree with this. Over a $100 and I'll just keep tossing my junk in the console sans lock.

I'm in for whatever option you can make......

Looking for interest for a 100 series style lockbox that @NLXTACY already has in development for the 80 series. I for one could use a secure storage area for things that can't be taken into government buildings and such, and I'm sure other people could as well.
Just make a comment if you'd be interested.
Yes, please keep me posted.

For sure it'll be over $100. I'm not feeling a ton of interest on the 100 side so that means low yield which means higher cost per unit. The Medeco lock by itself is almost $50...just for reference.

I *could* do a lid without the emboss for the combo lock but that means the Combo pad will sit higher that the lid by about 1/2"

Cool. A false bottom would be nice to do, but putting a 1/2" off set in the false floor wouldn't be a big deal.

How many units do you need to sell to break even or whatever your cutoff is to make it a viable product? A prebuy order list might be a good way to go.

I'd be in for sure if I didn't have some high $ mods in process right now. Just bad timing. Looks like very good work.
