I am still in if there's a combo lock and ideally, leaving the 12v port still open and available for use.

Now I'm not far enough on the 100 Series LockBox to reach production but I made some changes on the 80 Series production that will benefit you guys. Because I can't seem to leave well enough alone...

I was playing around with my mock-up and I got to thinking. Since the lid will be opening up and towards the back of the console (rear of the truck) I got to thinking about lifting the lid. No way in hell do I want to add a finger hole. I considered just using the key as the handle itself but then started wondering about the lid falling closed, especially if its on a decline. Not the end of the world and definitely useable. But I wanted something little more so I ordered up set up spring loaded hinges that are spring open. This way the lid stays open unless you want it pushed closed. I could also get spring closed that basically always tries to shut closed but I don't see that as being as useful. Since the hinges get spot welded AFTER the box and lid production I have some time to decide. On top of that all of you who got in on the GroupBuy get to see no price increase even with the new hinges...assuming I decide to go that way.

Wanna see what $2500 of Medeco Locks look like? Ouch :(

The singles, the dual keyed-alike, the multiple keys, etc.

The pieces are all coming together.

I'm in for lower half, whatever key/combo is fine.

Apologies for my absence but I had not been following closely. I have a 2004 100 series, with the big Cd/DVD player.

Although I prefer the lower side, with a false bottom, I understand that the 100 series is short numbers. I am flexible and aware my year is complicating things with that stupid cartridge. I do like the idea of a combo lock, since your keys might be attached to the ignition, however the availability of Chinese junk drives out quality products so that might be difficult.

I would assume this will be in the mid-$100s at this point. I don't understand how any less would be possible in such low quantities.

Yes, I am in.

I think I'd need the full size lock box rather than just the lower. I don't see how I could keep the HAM mounted in the console and have a lid opening and closing in that space. Keyed locks are fine.
I'm in, the price is cheap considering your time invested.

Sorry, didn't post these earlier. Here is the lower part of the console with the casting material. I'm still waiting on my metal shops to get me all the pieces for the first build of the 80 series LockBox. Still working out bugs and timing. Frustrating. I'm doing up the SolidWorks file for this but whether or not I make them is really up to you guys. The first attempt at the 100s would just be the lower box which is on the same level as the plug.

So the 80 Series LockBox and LockingLid for the Fire Extinguisher Mount are finally in production. I wanted to show you guys the pics and progress so you can see that its really happening. I need to make all of my mistakes on the 80 side before I can move on to the 60/62/100 offerings. Hopefully there is still interest in this on the 100 Series side. BTW, yes, there is a 100 Series Fire Extinguisher Mount being designed. Same thing though, interest dictates if it sees the light of day :flipoff2:

Very cool... What did you use to cut the hole for the locking mechanism? I need to cut some holes like that for a locking snowboard rack...

Still interested in the lock box!

Also still very interested in lock box. Where does the fire extinguisher bracket deal go?

Just installed the organizer in my 01 center console. Excellent work!

I would buy an extinguisher mount for sure!

in for one
