15,500 is beyond cheap for that Cruiser. I have not even found any close to that price.

True, but he also needed 700 worth of timing belt and at least 1000-1200 for tires plus the brakes. I have no idea about what that costs but if you add all that up its a totally different number.

I do agree that it was still a great deal though...

A year ago I paid 12,500 for mine from Southhaven that was originally a Memphis truck. It had 138K on it and it hadn't had the timing belt done. It did have brand new tires and brand new brakes all the way around. I dropped another 1K on PM right off....

Right, but what I'm getting at is I would have rather paid and did pay $1200 for a set of brand new BFG A/T 285/18's than haggle with a goober that just shelled out $1200, 4000 miles ago for a set of stock size whateverthehellthebrandname tire.

Two years ago, I got a sub 100k '03 100 for about $18,000 once all of the shouting was over. I gotta believe that the deals are out there.

18K for a sub 100K '03 2 years ago was a good deal. I agree with you in that there are deals out there. You have to be diligent in your search though to find them as they don't last on the market long. That may change with the increasing price of fuel though...

I looked for a solid 3 months every single day on Cars.com, Autotrader, Ebay, and Craigs from Denver to NC before I found one that I thought was a good deal and didn't have the factory NAV. I probably overpaid by about 700 since the KBB had a private party value in good condition at 12.5. I had to do maintenance on the truck which put me in at about 1K over PPV. The kicker for me was that it was local and I didn't have to pay shipping and I could look it over in person and drive it home. That was worth the extra 700.

Shoot, I think $12,500 is a good deal for a 2000 knowing how clean yours is. I just looked around and saw what Grog is talking about.

It's almost like prices rose since when I bought my truck. Maybe low gas prices? I dunno.:meh: But it looks as if I can easily sell Del's truck for $18,500 today. 2 years of driving a truck with little to no depreciation? Crazy talk..

As soon as gas gets to $7 per gallon it will be worth about $6.50 and a sack of envelopes.

I put a lot of work into my truck to get it where it is. All in all, I am happy with how it has turned out so far. I would call mine a 14K truck because I put 1K in maintenance and another 500 in the stereo.

I agree that you could get 18.5 easy though. Maybe Nolan would be willing to take it off your hands so that you can get that 07 you have been wanting....

These are getting snatched up by foreign exporters according to the guys in the wholesale bid-ness.

I am looking at a not-clean local 2004 at around 22k and a immaculate 2000 in TN for 16k. I am leaning toward the cheap one.

Same miles.

I am surprised there isn't more difference in price between the 00 and the 04. Guess it just depends on whether you would rather have the nav and the 5 speed for the difference in price. Not really any other huge differences besides that. The maintenance would be the same on either.

Fly over to the litter box with a few camels and some weapons and bring an American 100 series back. You can have pick of the litter (box).

You're right, Jes, prices have risen since that time. My observation is that it's because people have been reluctant or unable to buy new cars, so they're out there looking for nice used ones. I didn't get NEARLY the deal you did, but since I bought my '03 LX in Dec. of 2007, it appears the value hasn't dropped but about $4K from what I paid for it........in my opinion, the market has changed such that I ended up with a pretty resonable deal (of course, like y'all have said, if fuel goes up as predicted, 3-ton SUV's with gasoline V8s may soon become "sale-proof")

wait for gas prices to rise. they will get cheap again.

I still want something that I can pile the family in and go camping besides my wife's mini van.

I don't want two cars. I have had 2 cars for so long, I just want one for a change.

Look, no one has made any offers and I am going to just see what the market bears. If I keep it, I will sell the 33's and just have a set of 31-32" AT's a little less aggressive than these and drive the piss out of it.

I wish I still had it.

Since then I have been through a Taco....bought sold. Hated it.

Infinity....cool car, meh....was a car. Only wreck of my life, ended that lease a few months early.

FJ-43...flipped it. Cool.

FJ-60, built it, liked it, realized it was not a good DD. Lost $

FZJ-80, bought it as-is. Love it.

Also in that time I have bought/sold....Bash Buggy, Zuk, Twisted Customs buggy, Jim's Buggy, single-seat buggy, Ftoy, Bronco

What's next?

Do you have staff who keep track of all of this for you?
