Used 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser For Sale | Oxford MS Pretty Clean!
I can check tomorrow for undercarriage if any one interested. 241k for a 2000 for $10 grand seems steep to me.....

It is extremely steep. It was missing the 3rd row seats and does not have much of maintenance history via carfax to warrant that asking price. I'm sure the PO took good care of it but usually to not be on drugs to ask that price by a dealer you have to prove it was well taken car of mechanically.

I tried to haggle with them on this very truck and they were not interested in moving much. I even told them the used car manager would get slaughtered at auction with this thing. I offered them a fair price of nearly $7k and they wouldn't take it.

There was a gold one at herrin gear with high mileage as well BUT has several records up to the point of trade in that it had been serviced all its life at that Toyota dealership. Even was a 1 owner and they were asking less. The only issue was the interior was worn and real dirty. They wouldn't haggle much either on it.

@Justin727 I agree! The salesmen told me that it blue booked at $12,500.... I was like I paid $14k for my 98 with 69,000 miles....

From my experience and watching their prices, they are usually a bit optimistic when pricing used vehicles.

There's no way it books at that. Not even clean retail it books at that. I hit up KBB, NADA, and dealership only black book. (I work for Nissan)

I talked them in circles and they literally had no explanation other than it's "desirable" Main reason I was looking at the 100 series was for the 3rd row and it's a beautiful color. I love blue. I own an Ultrasonic Blue ISF and would love to have a Blue 100. Oh well. I'll pass I suppose.

I did however email them yesterday since it's been sitting so long and told them to ask UCM if he would like to be reasonable now? lol

Yeah, blue is certainly the rarest 100 color (at least down south - seems like most of the blues I found were in the northeast.....and rusty). I bought my blue '99 as a stopgap until I could find what I wanted, which was a blue/gray '03-'05. Unable to locate one after looking for over a year, I abandoned the search, sold my '99, and bought a blue/gray GX470. Very happy with that move......

If they'd be more negotiable on price I may have to take you up on that. Until then they can sit on it.

Well feel good in the fact that others (me) have offered less for it, thus making your offer look better. Maybe you will get it for $7k...??

3rd or 4th high mileage 100 I've tried to buy in the last few weeks where the stealership thinks they have a "rare and desirable" truck..maybe the joke is on us, ha?!?!?!

Agreed. I wouldn't feel comfortable paying more than about $7k(ish) for a 2000 with 241k on it (then again, it IS blue :D) For whatever reason, the pre-'03 prices have really begun to fall over the last 6 or so months. It's not been that long ago that $10k was sort of the bottom for most 100s. Now, $10k is sort of the top for nearly all 98-02s.

Hold firm Justin727. You may just end up with it. The good thing is - from a negotiation standpoint - you KNOW that with 241K on it they don't have squat in it! It's just a matter of them making up their minds to get right and sell it at what real market is.....

I still kick myself over selling my dark blue one two years ago.

I'll be in Water Valley in two weeks. I'll stop buy and "offer" $6k for it. Maybe we can drive the price down but they're waiting for a frat boy from Oxford to talk his parents into buying it.

I'm looking right now and there are no decent low mileage cruisers for sale in the entire Southeast. I'm going to buy a lx470 instead because that's all I'm finding. (Note: my work takes me to some areas where a lexus might draw unwanted attention that a toyota wont even though they are the same truck)

At first I offered them 6k out the door and they said no. Told me how nice blah blah blah. Then countered with 8K plus TTL. Wouldn't come off. We'll see how much of a hurry UCM might be to get rid of it. Once it starts affecting his day supply he may negotiate more or take the hit at auction.

If it goes to auction it will end up overseas. They will pay wholesale plus and don't care about high miles as the cluster will be swapped out before it's loaded into the container. The only Cruisers I could ever buy at auction were the ones with low mileage for the model year. It's been about 5 years ago but I sold a 2000 with 290k rough miles that had an interior that looked like ravage dogs lived in it for years for $10k to an exporter.

Well darn. I'll need you to sell my 01 4R at that auction lol! Although I hate to have to rid myself of it... Oh well I'll have to for a 100.

Emails between me and Frank at that dealer. I attached KBB and NADA in this last email I sent today. 6K is fair But start from the Bottom and read to the top

Frank,

You may want to look up the value on it Via consumer sites. I agree if the mileage was less even at 200k you could probably get full asking price +/- very little. I selected every option nearly that your particular Land Cruiser has except the missing 3rd row seats and running boards. So from what I looked up on values today it seems like a fair deal? Again it doesn't have a proven maintenance history. (Not saying it was NOT taken care of) But you and I both know that apart of the process when you're asking more for a vehicle then it may book at and most of the times get it!

I do appreciate your willingness to work with the price some but even black book doesn't even show it Rough at 6k.

Thank you for your time

Justin

Rough book is at least 6k and that don't include taxes and doc fee. It is worth 8k all day long. We will pass on your offer, but thanks

Frank

Will also need the timing belt service amongst other services that are due as well. All those things can add up pretty significantly as I'm sure you're aware. I'm certainly not trying to steal it away from you for that price.

Tax on a vehicle older than 10 years....now that is funny....SMDH
Unfortunately, in Mississippi, they're right (ask me how I found out....:bang:)

Less than 10 years old (dealer to individual): 5% tax
Less than 10 years old (individual to individual): 3% tax
10 years old or more (dealer to individual): 5% tax
10 years old or more (individual to individual): 0% tax

I'm willing to work with TTL but by the sounds of it doesn't seem he wants to go under $8k

Just to note. I have not received a reply after sending him the values from KBB and NADA.

Not sure where he's pulling his figures from but at my dealership the # is significantly different from his.
