I think having the foam not with the carpet is better imo, probably will save on shipping, can be picked up at homedepot, and not having it bonded to the carpet will allow easy replacement if it gets wet and nasty.

I reviewed the 60 and 62 carpet threads. The product looks very nice for their trucks. When I can get photos of a 100 install, make sure any kinks are worked out, I'll definitely be in for a set. Can't improve most anything else in the interior that will have such a big visual affect, at that price!

Question - Will all the carpets be configured with the hump for the heater unit under the driver's seat, or will that be optional? I don't use rear heat, it is disconnected. I was going to use that spot for amp space, would like to have the option of not having that hump in the carpet.

I'd definitely want the factory-type jute attached to the backing....

Thanks for making the effort to supply this!

Wow great price for complet set. Is it one size fits all or or do you have year specific sets for the minor difference. Like child set anchor access?

Interested in a factory ivory set. In for pics and install tutorial from those who are volunteering to be the guinea pigs?

Photos??!
+1 for photos — did black end up being one of the options?
I have checked with the mfr., and photos are not quite ready. I hope to receive the first of the production sets the first part of next week, so if they don't have photos available by then, I will take some myself and post them. Oh, and black is DEFINITELY available! I still think that would look great in a 100 or even as close match as possible to the dark brown or dark charcoal on the tops of the doors/dash top in a tan or grey interior, respectively
Pm sent. I’m probably in for a black or charcoal order.
OK. I've got you on the list
Sorry to ask but what exactly does this include?

Front, rear, cargo mats? With 3rd row cut outs?
The mfr. has each set listed as containing: "Passenger area with back panel and tailgate. Back panel padding is loose in the box." Therefore, the kit will contain all pieces to replace the OEM carpet in a 100. As for the mats, they HAVE released illustrations of all available mats. Please see the images below.
Very interested - in my past experience, aftermarket carpet isn't as thick as OEM, can you comment on the thickness? is the sound deadening foam included?
You're pretty much right on that. As hard as we tried, we were able to get the 60/62 carpet to about 95% "correct" per OEM carpet, but there's just no way an aftermarket mfr can afford to invest the amount of money an auto mfr will invest to create a component. I haven't actually touched the 100 carpet yet, and while I know it will be close, it would cost many, many times the price to get it exact to OEM. As for sound deadening, it will come with a fiber "jute" backing per OEM. I'm not aware of anyone who makes a foam backing, but many people offer an asphaltic material for that purpose (brands like DynaMat, KillMat, FatMat, Second Skin, Noico, etc. - per a bunch of feedback I've received, people seem to think the 80 mil Noico is the best product for the price)

is it safe to assume the carpet will not come with the plastic door jamb channel clips?
and Question about the Velcro/rigid edge where the rearmost meets the middle?

either way im in for stone colored, no mats, just carpet.

Add me to that inquiry - those clips that go over the edges are kind of important to keeping the carpet in place on a 100.

Yes, you are both correct: the new carpet will NOT come with those plastic pieces. However, the easy solution is to remove the OEM plastic from the OEM carpet (they're just stapled to the carpet) and reuse them (just be sure to mark them so you'll know their proper positioning). You can either restaple or glue them to the new carpet. They just act as "bridges" to both make the carpet edges flat and provide a cover for the carpet over the wiring harnesses that lie in the troughs on both sides.

Nice job @dnp. Darker the better in my eyes. If you are bringing in or can order a dark brown I am a buyer.
Hey @Bomar. Right on with the darker color. I am going to be doing some color matching to see if I can come up with carpet that matches the darker 100 interior pieces (the tops of the door panels and the top of the dash). Until some on this thread suggested it, I never thought of doing that, but I've got to think that'd look REALLY good in a 100. Of course, black is another other-than-OEM combination that would look good, too.

I'll be posting some photos of what I come up with. Stand by...................

Question, will the carpet be available by piece?
Unfortunately, no. This mfr. has never sold carpet - other than bulk, non-molded carpet - in less-than-set quantities. I've asked them many times, and I've been told their manufacturing process won't allow for partial-kit pieces.

Please add me to the list. Tan interior. Thanks.
Will do. Thanks.

I hope to have color selections for all grey / dark grey / black / dark brown by this weekend. The mfr. has the only tan floor carpet I have, so I'm going to have to rely on them to color match that one.....hopefully by Monday.

Thanks for everyone's patience! We're just about to get this thing kicked off! (By the way, for another consideration: there's no reason we can't do 100 carpet in old school loop pile, should anyone choose to do that. There are less color choices in loop, but I'm sure we can come up with something VERY close.............just another option to think about. )

OK, I'm gonna start posting some findings for all to consider.

I'm gonna have to get with the mfr. to talk with them about the match for the OEM carpet, but in the meantime, I believe I have found (a) a virtual match for the grey carpet, and (b) I have come up with some options / suggestions on alternative colors for both the tan and grey interiors (NOTE: as we all know, colors can and do look differently in a photos and/or computer screens. That's why I hope the inclusion of actual 100 interior parts in the photos will help everyone compare the colors to the interior parts. I figure, if you're seeing the part, it's safe to say the contrast between the part and the color sample it probably pretty close to the contrast you'd be seeing between the two in real life.....at least that's what I'm thinking.

OK, the first photo is of 3 colors: the grey carpet on the floor of my 325k mile 2000 100, a small sample from under the passenger seat of same (the small piece on the right, which is likely not faded, due to the fact it never saw/sees direct sun), and a sample from the mfr. (on the right - for what it's worth, they call this color "Opal") that appears to me to be virtually the same color. (NOTE: cut pile carpet, in particular, can have different shades, depending on whether you're looking at it straight from above or from an angle. In fact, you can see this effect on the piece in the photo. The large piece is slightly bowed, and the camera is looking more straight into the right side of the piece - which appears darker. The camera is also looking more straight in to the small piece.) What we've created is NOT OEM carpet, so the likelihood of the carpet appearing to be exactly the same color of the OEM carpet is remote. However, please remember, it would almost certainly take a side-by-side comparison between the two to make that distinction.

Now on to 3 options for darker color in the grey interior trucks. Again, the colors are a bit misleading, because to me, the one that, in real life, most closely matches the door handle/top of the door is the one on the far left ("Ebony") The other two (middle "Charcoal" and right "Black") seem to have a little more contrast than the far left one. They ALL look good, in my opinion, but since the actual dark color in these trucks has a LOT of blue tint to the black/dark grey, the "Ebony" seems to be closest....in my opinion. That's the one I'll be using......3 photos from slightly different angles:

OK, some considerations for the tan interior trucks (this will be for non-OEM color matching, for now): Below are some samples in comparison to the center of the door panels. Unlike the grey interiors, the door panel inserts / tops of doors differ in color from the top of the dash

The colors are:

1 - Gray (looks a lot more tan in person)
2 - Sandstone/Camel
3 - Medium Mocha (this one is the closest, in my opinion, although it gets lighter when viewed at an angle)
4 - Sandalwood
5 - Brown
6 - Dark Briar Brown (if I had a tan interior truck, I would either go with #3 or this one. It's clearly, visually brown, but it is a VERY dark brown - I think it'd look REALLY good in a brown interior truck)

So that's what I've found today.
  • Grey Interior: If you want to go with an OEM color carpet, I've found the one that matches most closely. However, if you want to go darker, I've got three options for you on that.
  • Tan Interior: If you're wanting to darker than OEM, please see the options above. If you're wanting to stick with the OEM color, I should have an answer for you on that the first part of the week.
Thanks, and let me know if you want to order / have any questions.
David
