Interesting, sounds very very similar to my truck. And I paid $6,500, which I felt was approriate. My shoddy paint is just poorly done collision repair, but again $6,500 is cheeeeeep for an LC around here. And i do all my own labor which saves a ton of coin.

Yeah let me know if you're in Dallas! Would love to grab lunch and check out our cruisers. I also go to Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport about once a month to wheel a little bit. nothing crazy just keep my skills up and text out my vehicles. I know its a lot longer trek out there for you than me but I will keep you posted whenever I go if you want to join.

I need a hood protector.... any idea where I should get one or quality ones vs non quality ones? I just need it going out to central texas if its just a simple bolt on and bolt off when I am not traveling....

Could be a big problem down the line... glad I caught it. For time being I’m putting some zip ties on the power steering line to hold it away from the belt.

That would've been a messy roadside issue....

I found the same issue with mine... It wore through the insulation all the way but never touched the hose.

5 bucks for a ton of zipties and I put 2 on it and cinched to the air intake box bracket and its good just incase. Found a deal one some bilstein shocks front and rear for $300 shipped and its got less than 3,000 miles on them. Wondering if I should buy and if not does someone want them? Im trying to decide on that or the diff drop kit since i bought springs that give me 1.5 inch lift. Do truly need the diff drop kit??? $245 bones for the kit and I would love to spend it somewhere else if I can...

Got these done today.... did the duplicolor on them with the gloss on top. They are ok but honestly I did a pisspoor job and didn’t care lol. I got them off with the blow dryer and dentil floss and stuck them right back on. They will probably fall off and that’s ok cause I might just order the brand new OEM silver ones.... my paint on my vehicle around the letters is worn bad due to fade and washing and not drying properly and who knows what else. I think when I get the new ones I’ll make sure to do whatever I can to get the paint looking nice around the lettering and emblems.

Do a search here for the bilsteins, they are usually not recommended for the 100 platform. There have been multiple accounts of shock failure at full droop.
For me a diff drop kit is cheaper than replacing 1 CV axle so i will run a Diff drop kit once I lift it as security - even if its just in my head.

Thanks for the advice. It makes sense to do the diff drop kit when you look at it like that. Also the shocks I researched and yea I am for sure not doing that and will go OEM for now since the are stupid cheap and honestly for a daily driver they aren’t to bad.

UPDATE! I bought the steering rack assembly today along with tie rods and will be having it installed all for under $1000 which Im thrilled about. Also did some mods to the console by taking out the drink holder that never gets used and will potentially be installing the "wits end" organizer to the bottom of the top lid on console. Here are the mods for now....

It works for now but all is attached via velcro.... I might take the cd changer out at some point but right now Im to lazy to take everything apart to get it done. I might line the insde of the changer with the padding thats in the bottom of the console and use it for a holder for something that way if needed I can always put it back to OEM.

I like the organization in the center console. Looks good! Is the notepad to record your kills? lol.

Ham radio added. I used Velcro on the bottom of base and attached it.... it’s not perfect but great for what I need. Mostly using it for our deer lease to play around with and Incase we have no cell reception. We can have 3-4 vehicles going on our place while we are working and we have a highway that splits our property so it can come in handy... I use it at home more which is why I went this route. No hard mount because it will be in my house mostly but when I want to take it I can just attach the base and stick it in and roll. While I’m inside somewhere I can just put it in the console for the time being.

Update..... the latest things that I have done to the cruiser. For now I’ll keep the plasti-dip on the trim but eventually I’ll probably get the paint code and paint it the exact same as the body to match.

In the sun it looks like a closer match but when it’s in the shade you can really tell it’s not the same.

Would be super cool to paint match the bumpers too, to get the all-white LX look. Something about a white cruiser I just love the look. White and tan or all white doesn't matter.

Looks good man! I agree the all white would look great... Or some white steel bumpers...

Im actually loving the look of this cruiser found on the web... like this front bumper and is more than what I need but I like the trim white with this bumper.

Yesterday I had to take the alternator out and replace it then found out I had a engine coil out in cylinder 2. Actually was a super easy process and go to amazon to get the part. https://www.amazon.com/Denso-673130...-4&keywords=toyota+land+cruiser+ignition+coil Might end up buying a couple of these just incase im rolling down the road and something goes wrong..... I have 208k on it so it could happen anytime.
